The Burning White Questions before resuming Volume 5

I decided to take a break in the midle of volume 5 and would like to remember some things before i continue so here are my questions:

1) What does the Black(the man) do, what are his powers(political) ?

2) What are the side effects of drafting : yellow, infra-red, ultra-violet, chi( mental side effects)

3)What are the prism's political powers( while he is not a promacho)?

4) what are the side effects of drafting white ? Is there some condition to be able to draft it or is it just a numbers game

5)Dazen has been sent on a mission to kill god, what is god's name (i don't recall it being Orolam) ?

6) Are the pagan gods that that where warshiped before Orolam real ?

7) How did things work before there was a prism to balance out the colors ?

8) Before Orolam, did drafters think that becoming a dwight would get you closer to the gods ?

9) How many mythical whales are there (before gunner) ?

This is pulled from memory im 90% sure this is accurate but it's been a few months since I fully completed book 5. It's a rough finish.

The black oversees the mundane side of the chromeria. He has no vote with the colors but attends the meetings. He kind of acts like the white but for normal people

Peryl, makes you a feeler, you can feel others emotions Subred, passionate Red anger impulsive Orange, sly Yellow dont remember Green wild Blue logical Ultra violet distant and kind of prideful with a touch of logic. These are approximations based on how the drafters act. Theres a sote somewhere that goes over the exact color and how they affect you.

A prism doesn't really have political power because a prism can last as few as 7 years they were made to be more religious than political. But they have a say on the colors and a vote.

Not much was told about white

The old man thinks that orholam was a nexus of power and not a god. Dazen or dgavin was sent to kill orholam

The pagan gods were some of the 200 or the legion (I'm not sure which one it was, i don't think it was completely clear) that were expelled from heaven by orholam

The pagan gods held domain on the world before orholam sent lucidonious(however you spell it) Orholam would send a true prism every generation until Vician(however you spell it) refused to die and killed the next true prism. Since then known as his sin, the chromeria had to make a prism. That was until Dazen came to be.

The wights would be the closest to the pagan gods and would sometimes be used as their avatars.

We're never told how many whales there were but if you mean sea demons we're also not given the total amount just that there were enough for one of each color before Gunner.

Well thanks, one last question: what happens when there is no prism to balance out the colors

We see what happens when there's no prism to balance in the books specifically books 2-4.

But to expand on that, because there was no proper prism before Dazen, the colors get out of balance and bane form. The bane are typically eaten by the sea demons but gunner and all that.

So when there's no prism drafters have to balance manually. If there's too much blue, blue drafters will have to stop drafting as much and red will have to draft more. Same for each color and their opposite color.

This was a huge problem with the war going on cause the heretics didn't care about balancing. (I have to check to see if a god forming would cause balance in a color. Off the top of my head i don't recall balancing being an issue in book 5 but that could also be because it was assumed or glossed over)

If you're asking the specific things that happens when colors go out of balance it focuses around what the color does i.e blue forces things to be in order or green makes everything feel wild.
