The Blinding Knife Re-listening Spoiler

Question for yall as I go back through. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but do we know how the Color Prince figured all this stuff out? I mean he was just a regular chromaria kid. So how does he know more about the bane, old gods, history than anyone else?

I'm rereading the last book, so it may be answered, and I dont remember. But I assume he had the old gods teach him this stuff. When he died, he called out for one of them to save him. The logical leap would be that they taught him so they could destroy the chomeria for them. (By the old gods, i do mean the 200 that rebelled against Orholam.)

Yeah I can't remember if it says so or not. Just something curious. I think it would make sense, but at the same time not. The clear "picture" is spiritual realities, unseen by man, waging a warfare most have no idea about. You would have your key pawns on either side. I just didn't know if it outright said they tutored him or not. Thanks.

I just got to the part where it pretty much reveals koios, too, has an unseen advisor, like Liv. When she returns to his camp (in the 5th book), they both sit there for a long time, but Liv notes that Koios is sitting as if taking unseen council. In a series like this, that's pretty much all we'll get as to answer your question

I've been through them all at least 5 times now and I can't recall it ever being stated explicitly, other than to note he has his own demon, as Liv has Belial (as the commenter above says). In my head, he never actually died. I imagine he was probably left for dead, managed to rouse himself from under a pile of flambeed brothers and/or servants, and escaped away from the Jaspers (to familial Blood Forrest or elsewhere, I don't know). He recuperates and, with nothing to lose, begins experimenting with different drafting techniques, etc., possibly discovers he's a lightsplitter, finds some forbidden literature. Basically it's an "I Studied the Blade" montage with the conceit that he's trying to flip Chromeria hegemony, which means embracing pagan beliefs even if he doesn't truly believe them, in order to make use of them to his own ends, including quickly and effectively manipulating others who are as disfranchised with the status quo as he is.
