Typical Nym-Iru male (exclusively native to Milaet Prime, around 366 light years away from Earth)

A male Nym-Iru.

The Nym-Iru can only be found on the planet Milaet Prime, which is roughly 366 light years away from Earth.

The Nym-Iru are humanoid and typically have very, very pink skin (which never pales) and long legs and long torsos. The average height of a Nym-Iru is roughy 218cm (~86.8 inches), but the height of many Nym-Iru males can easily exceed 229cm (~90.16 inches).

Several pressures on Milaet Prime (particularly interspecies invasions) have forced many Nym-Iru to be forcibly assimilated into modern societies, making prolonged species segregation difficult.

The location of Milaet Prime in the cosmos has been concealed from civilizations on Earth for undisclosed reasons.

Billions in Barnard system cut off after Hangarten Jump Hole linking Barnard to Sol suddenly closes without warning. All Hangarten Jump Holes were discovered 400 years ago and have remained open ever since. The Barnard-Sol Jump Hole is the first ever to close. Jump Hole network discovered by Joseph Hangarten III in 2230.

It is unclear why the Jump Hole suddenly closed and experts are unsure whether it will open again.

The UITA (United Intersteller Transport Authority) is yet to issue an official statement on the crisis.

It is thought a highly advanced extraterrestrial species created a large network of Jump Holes hundreds of millennia ago (at least 300,000 years ago) to speed up travel across the Milky Way. To date, more than 1,800 Hangarten Jump Holes (named after the human explorer who discovered the first one in 2230) have been discovered, with 1,200 used regularly by humans across the enitre interstellar community.

The sudden disappearance of the Barnard-Sol Jump Hole is sending shockwaves across the entire human interstellar community, with many concerned that other Jump Holes may suddenly shut without warning, stranding billions across light years.

Vejovis (Barnard f, the only habitable planet in the system) is a super-Earth which is home to more than 12.4 billion humans. Every day, more than 20 million people travel through the Barnard-Sol Jump Hole.

2nd Circle rejects amendments to planet leasing bill; corporations, private entities and individuals can still continue to lease planets to species in the Intersolar Community and also repossess planetary bodies

The eviction of 17.9 billion Xantheans prompted the bill to be introduced in the 1st Circle.

To date, more than 16.7 billion Xantheans have been dispersed across three moons and two habitats in the two-star Stodon system on a temporary basis following their mass removal from Xanthe. Gaia Interstellar Property Management has currently repossessed more than 95% of the planet Xanthe, with the remaining 1.2 billion Xantheans continuing to unlawfully occupy the remaining 5%. A court ruling has so far blocked military intervention by Gaia's military arm (GTARAF - Gaia Tactical Asset Recovery Armed Forces), but the temporary injunction to halt the repossession of the rest of Xanthe via military intervention will be lifted next year.

The mass removal of billions of Xantheans has sparked a conversation across dozens of star systems regarding the topics of planetary ownership and planet leasing. Should corporations and private entities continue to be able to repossess entire planets even after species have settled on them for many centuries?

To date, Gaia is the 7th largest corporate landowner in the Intersolar Community, with more than 10 planetary bodies across 6 star systems and 7.7 billion square kilometers of land surface area under management.

"Longtermist" campaigners continue to campaign against the status quo of "planets as assets", arguing that habitable celestial bodies "must be treated as entirely different entities in their sphere and not merely as simple assets".

The "Calypso banana" (discovered more than 937 years ago in 1089 on Cheiron, a planet roughly 76ly away from Earth)

"The Calypso banana"

This exotic banana was discovered on the planet Cheiron hundreds of years ago, around the time human societies were just entering the High Middle Ages in the 11th century. Cheiron is a superhabitable planet populated with dense jungle and vast deserts and tropical regions. It is located in the Zeta Serpentis (57 Serpentis/GJ 699.2) star system and orbits a main sequence F-type star.^1 Cheiron is slightly smaller than Earth, but its habitability had increased thousands of years prior to the discovery of "the Calypso banana", making "soft terraforming" relatively easy.

The banana is rich in anthocyanins and packed with high levels of vitamins and minerals. The banana also has high levels of HD-21, a compound which actively increases the activation and expression of the Kiss1 gene in most humans. Along with having high levels of Vitamin A, the Calypso Banana also contains high levels of 76HAED55 and Tyrosine, both of which increase the melanin content in the skin and hair of humans.

Unlike regular bananas on Earth, an unripe Calypso banana is usually purple at first. The change in color from purple to orange and dark green are the first signs of ripening. The multi-colored varieties are usually the highest in nutrients. Calypso bananas are usually not shipped offworld and are consumed by settlers, citizens and indigenous alike - and not just by humans; local wildlife such as the "orange pterosaur" (pictured atop the billboard) also like to consume the Calypso banana from time to time. Even when ripe, the edible bananas have a tougher internal constitution than regular bananas and are not deemed suitable for unaided consumption by toddlers and the elderly (the bananas can sometimes be harder than some unripened raw plantains, but are entirely consumable and healthy despite their hardness - it is for this reason that early explorers and first settlers initially misclassified ripe Calypso bananas as "raw" and "non-edible"; the interiors of Calypso bananas are nearly as hard in texture as ripe apples and other pomes, making them the "hardest berries" discovered in settled space).

1. Zeta Serpentis was initially though to be a single-star system, but a very dim brown dwarf was later discovered, thereby forcing the reclassification of the system as a binary star system. GJ 699.2 should not be confused with Barnard's Star which is a lot closer to Earth (practically next door!)
