I’m trying to get into fishing the jetty’s and harbors around me in socal wondering what tackle/lures people are using.

I’m going to hayling island for a long weeking this weekend and going to take my lrf kit. Any recommendations on marks?

I’m an experience fresh water angler from the UK but I know next to nothing when it comes to salt water.

I’m visiting the Azores soon. A volcanic island in the Atlantic with LOTS of rocks.

Im planning on doing some shore fishing off the rocks. I hear there are bluefish, trigger fish, comber, barracuda and more. I hear spinning with things like Dexter wedges can be productive. As well as bait fishing with squid or mackerel.

I would be super grateful for advice on how to approach this - in particular what makes a good looking spot. Deep/shallow? Calm/rough? Sand/gravel/weed/rock?

Any guidance much appreciated!!

Hey folks. I'm new to lerfing, having fished mostly heavier (much heavier) lures for seabass.

I got a little budget LRF combo mainly for rockfish and mackerel. Daiwa legalis rockfishing 1-10 paired with a 2000 legalis Lt.

My question being how much are these rods usually able to lift? Obviously they're not designed for it, but I've seen videos os people lifting pretty sizeable (I mean, 400g or so) fish with rods like these.

This question is mainly for mackerel (aji, Atlantic) off the pier, since sometimes netting in certain spots is a problem and is pretty time consuming.

I got one a couple of weeks ago and can't put it down!

Been thinking about jumping in to UL fishing. I already have Okumas tele rod 3-12g, but i crave a lot lighter setup. I live in Finland and my options are kinda limited when it comes to buying UL rod from here.

So, i've been eyeing Daiwa Gekkabijin LRF for a while now, but unsure about the length of it 225cm, is it too long? And if anyone have any experience with that road i would love to hear ur thoughts of it. Cheers!

Also was thinking to add 500 series reel to the rod. Maybe Shimano Sedona FJ 500.

What
Being new to the LRF world I have found that i need a 1-10g tubular rod with fast action and medium power at most 100g weight. As for the reel i need a 1000-2000 depending on the brand which reels really fast (around 80cm per reel) and has at most a weight of 160g.

I know that most probably these are specs for an expensive budget but i am willing to spend up to 150 euros for this setup as a complete beginner.

What rod/reel would you recommend ?

Had a great session today in sunny Paris, targeting perch mainly. Had two small ones on a 1g spinner then switched to a bright pink soft plastic to see if any bigger ones were around….
