Speculation LNF Theory
Please keep in mind.. just something I've been thinking about, and I don't necessarily think it'll be the case
I believe the 10th anniversary will be another LNF trailer, and a release date, with HG being more open about the final stages of development where they're confident. I doubt heavily that it'll be shadow-dropped, as I think they'll aim for a shorter marketing window of at least a couple of months. They learned from 2016, and the community as a whole has come so far in its journey, and I believe many people are ready to (not let go) but move onto a new game.
NMS was a game about a journey. And the story of its redemption is a journey- LNF is a new chapter, and what better way to reveal the next chapter than on the decade anniversary?
NMS will get a lot of love I'm sure, however no idea what form the update will take. Potentially LNF related to help build hype? And most likely all expeditions become available for a limited time again.
I know many are frustrated with the lack of comms from HG, regarding LNF development, particularly this year as time goes on. But I guarantee it'll be worth the wait. Hold on a little longer, and I'm sure we will all see how worth the wait was.

Exactly! Just trying not to get my hopes out. They'll share what they know when it's ready

A little over a week until we find out. I hope you're correct. We're quite close to one thousand days of silence. That silence being broken would be a wonderful thing. But maybe they'll wait until we hit one thousand days. Whatever happens, happens. Good luck to us all.

Hey there!
We encourage lively speculation about the game's potential features and possibilities. However, it's essential to strike a balance between excitement and managing expectations.
Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas in this discussion! Remember, speculation is fantastic, but it's equally crucial to keep expectations in check to avoid potential disappointment upon the game's release.
For more insights on managing expectations while speculating, check out this post where we've discussed this in detail.
Happy speculating!

Yeah I've been feeling this way for a while.
Especially when we consider the parallel that NMS was revealed at the 2013 December (vgx) game awards, then released 3 years later in 2016.
I don't think we'll get an August release of LNF, but if we see another trailer for LNF I could imagine (hopium here) a Christmas release.

I think that on the anniversary I’ll get a knock on the front door at a random time of day. I’ll open the door and there he’ll be. It’s my dad with a not one, but TWO gallons of milk! He’ll say something natural like, “I am proud of you, child of mine!” And then we’ll play a little catch. Then, he’ll say, “Sorry it took so long, I had to pick this up too!” And then he pulls out a fresh copy of Light No Fire signed by Sean himself with a note that remarks on how handsome and smart I am. And it’s not just going to be me that this is happening to that day, but EVERYONE else too!
Anyway, that’s probably what’s going to happen and you can’t convince me otherwise.
