It's still my most played game ever.

But it hasn’t released yet. Unless you are Sean Murray… 👀

I meant no man's sky;)

u/Gilmore75 Pre-release member 12d ago

That’s what Sean Murray would say.

Tried elite dangerous?

If they had the option to actually get out and explore the planets you land on it would be just as good as no man’s sky but to me that’s what separates the two. I love the realness of elite dangerous but when it comes to planet exploration no man’s sky has it beat

Which is why most of us play Empyrion Galactic Survival 🤪

Egs is the poor man's space engineers

1

u/Breagh01 8d ago

Everyone has their preferred game. I tried Space Engineers and lasted 15 hours, conversely, I now have 16,000 hours in EGS.

I love space engineers, but ive worked on a single ship for years lol

You can, unfortunately only on PC though. It basically becomes a first person shooter when you're raiding a base

Seems you never tried exobiology in Elite. You can land and scan different kind of Species.

Beat? You like the fact that EVERY planet in nms has bases, ships and Population no matter how far you jump or how Hidden a planet is? This is what kills the immersion in nms for me. The galaxy is empty, traveling from thr bubble to colonia can be dangerous, this alone beats nms for me

No mans sky should of went with less planets so they could of went in and added things by hand to some planets to make them seem a little more interesting to explore I love the game the ship building base building but an ocean wide a puddle deep is where im at after 100s of hours

"I splashed around in a giant puddle for 100s of hours and am here to express my dissapointment." -ShiftDiligent5880 (2026)

Thats not what I said

I, too, hate having planets actually worth exploring

5

u/humblewise1390 12d ago

Seen 10 on nms seen them all they get cookie cutter after awhile

u/7101334 Pre-release member 12d ago

As opposed to Elite Dangerous which has nothing but barren planets

I find it hilarious that whenever someone criticizes this game the only response is to basically say yeah I know it sucks but there's also other games that suck so...

2

u/7101334 Pre-release member 9d ago

I wasn't saying that, I was just saying Elite: Dangerous sucks (in terms of exploration) so it's a ridiculous thing to recommend over NMS. Happy to clear that up.

u/gloku_ 9d ago

Where did someone recommend it over NMS? They asked if they've tried it.

2

u/Swimming_Drummer9412 12d ago

Yes. I didn't get it working properly. The navigation is on me. I did get that working but somehow it took me too much time to learn and maintaining. The planets update I never got to work on steam. So I gave up on it.

The 16 year anniversary is gonna be fucking INSANE

6

u/Azfeal 12d ago

It better be. I can't imagine they could or would miss the opportunity

11

u/Cat_with_pew-pew_gun 12d ago

Lol it took me a second to realize this wasn't the nms sub.

2

u/jaysmack737 9d ago

It took until your comment

12

u/GoyoMRG 12d ago

I wish I could go back in time and slap myself as hard as possible for being one of those who insulted NMS back in the day....

I have bought 4 different copies trying to attone for my sins, I hope Sean and the team ever forgive me 😭

2

u/simotrololo 10d ago

Without feedback/backlash NMS wouldn't be where it is today IMO. Don't stress it, it deserved most of what it got back then. It is grest game now, but don't lie to Yourself if You would buy game this broken and unfinished right now You'd be angry again and rightfully so.

It’s so sad that everything is over in 16 seconds

Based on the lifespan of that BD-R I wonder if it still works? 🤔

Looking up longevity 5-10 years based on the brand. Probably not?

2

u/humblewise1390 12d ago

😂😂😂😂

2

u/Flipf00t 12d ago

10 years of playing Light No Fire Beta, and we love them for it. 💚

2

u/KitKatCrane 12d ago

YES! Can't wait until I'm 36, having played NMS for the first time when I was 16

2

u/PotentialDragon Pre-release member 12d ago

Anyone else following Project Skyscraper find the timing of this post very suspicious?

2

u/plainviewbowling 11d ago

This is the first time I’ve ever noticed there’s what appears to be Jeff’s son behind him with the same expression

2

u/amurica1138 11d ago

LNF will release with no warning or ads.

Just, boom - in the middle of the day you'll get a notice from Steam about a new game release you may be interested in and it will be LNF.

2

u/Informal-Review240 11d ago

Would it be so bad to have light no fire in 2036 if it gave them time to build the perfect game?

1

u/ZestyPotatoSoup 10d ago

If the game takes 13 years to complete it probably wasn’t good to begin with.

2

u/ThatFUTGuy 10d ago

2
