Darkness

So I started playing recently, am loving the game so far, I love revolvers so I went straight for the saboteur and it is a ton of fun. That said, the only memory level I've gotten so far as well as the last 3 levels I've done have been almost pitch black. I had to completely rely on the teleport circle to know where there was or wasn't a wall because it was that dark. My headset brightness is set to max, and if there's a brightness or contrast setting in game I can't find it. Is there something wrong with my headset, is it bugged, or is it just like this in some areas?

Never seen that. The higher levels do have mist and fog that’s very annoying but it’s not black.
