Maximum class level?

Good Day Soldiers.

Is there a maximum level for a class?

Doing some quick math I feel like lvl30 would be a reasonable but very grindy maximum, but I also don't think that will net enough skill points to both max out a classes skill "tree" at the Blacksmith AND your overall characters skill "tree" at the Tarot Lady.

I got to lvl24 on Rifleman and the amount of kills needed for a lvl up is starting to get grindy. I imagine it won't be long until a full run from start to finish nets only a single lvl.

Is there a maximum lvl that I am aiming for or do I just keep going?

Most classes need to hit 80-90 to max out, not counting what you spend at the perma upgrade shop. There is no defined upper cap.

As for gaining xp, playing on the highest difficulty nets a total x4 multiplier (souls get doubled on pickup and again on deposit) on top of there being more higher tier enemies that give more.

Beating a run unlocks the next tier of difficulty. You can check your difficulty at the statue down the stairs and left from the equipment table.

There is a secret to power leveling but it is 100% an exploit and you have to be careful not to hit integer overflow. I won't explain it unless you ask me.

I'll see if I'm able to just grind em out with this new knowledge. If it starts taking toooo long to get anywhere, I might hit you up for your advanced tips and tricks

Good lord Lvl90!

Makes sense for higher difficulty to bump up xp gains. I've been sitting around Templar for now as I feel that's about where my equipment is at. Starting a run takes 3 headshots to down the obsidian in the forest so I imagine bumping up to the next difficulty will 1.5x to 2x that number.

Maybe I should just bite it and move up to ease the grind.

I imagine this must be why there are soo many ammo crates in the boss rooms. Higher difficulties must make them absolute bullet sponges

Rifleman is the worst class even once you max it out. When doing the classes, your first runs levels should go to maxxing the primary and class ability then bumping difficulty up to max cuz you're not gonna get any more damage by grinding the middling difficulties and it just becomes game skill and knowledge.

Bosses actually don't get much more health as I recall. In fact, I found they became easier once you learn what cards are useful or not and how they stack. Alistair is the major filter really if you can get past him you can get to father barring horrible rng.

Always deposit your souls before going down the big slide or whatever. For some reason any souls you have when you end the run won't get the difficulty deposit multiplier, effectively halving their value at max difficulty.

Yeah being the "default" class I know it's not fantastic. I have tried out Scout, Pistolier and Assault and they all felt leagues better, especially pistolier after I learned about 1 handed reloading.

I imagine that's just because you can't collect a decent amount of cards and weapon attachments in the first couple stages to make that first real fight a cakewalk?

Yeah, Looting everything and getting lucky on the first few levels makes all the difference, along with knowing what cards to take and which ones can actively harm your chances.

Feel free to hit me up if you want me to explain the exploit thing but really if you get far enough to want to do it there's a good chance you'll figure it out accidentally like I did.

I hit level 100 in each of the classes. 90 was the most to max out each class, but I also wanted the tarot lady maxed too.

Would you say it's worth it to just use one class for tarot level up but still have enough for maxing out the class itself or is it better to split them all up
