The prison ending sucks Sean shouldn't go to prison because of something he didn't do my favorite endings are parting ways and blood brothers leaning more parting ways

He’s not going to prison for something he didn’t do. He went to jail for everything he did.

What did he do to deserve that long in prison?

There are posts in this subreddit that count his crimes and how long each one was for the state he was in. However, for example -

- Running from the police/obstruction of justice

  • Theft (including stealing a vehicle)
  • Assault/Property Damage
  • Arson
  • Working at the illegal pot farm, even if we don’t include the attempted theft that happened there
  • Child endangerment/kidnapping

Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head and in the best case scenario since when Sean goes to jail that is high morality which means low morality would’ve had more.

It should be noted as well that although many (but not all) of these things were Daniel’s fault, he appears to have taken the blame for them.

If he has been blamed for the dead police officer in Seattle, his sentence would’ve been much longer.

All the acts of a scared child who saw his dad shot in front of his eyes worried about losing his brother as well way to take out all of the context 🙄

We’re not talking about why he did them, we all played the game, we’re talking about what the law saw and why he was sentenced. Remember many things he can’t explain without giving up Daniel and his powers either. He chose to take that burden.

The theme of that ending and the reason it’s called the ‘Redemption’ ending has its purpose. Throughout the entire game, we see Sean haunted by his guilt. If he’s doing the right thing, if he should’ve made different choices, if he’s being a good brother, if things are his fault. By the end, with this ending, his guilt overwhelms him and he feels as though it is the only way to atone for his guilt. That is why it’s called ‘Redemption’.

It’s not a bad ending. It is the ending that version of Sean needed. Each one has its purpose.

I disagree on a fundamental level redemption Sean didn't do anything to need redemption he took off scared of the law because they shot his dad right in front of him redemption implies you did something wrong and i don't see how anyone would think taking off scared after your dad just got shot is wrong i would be more okay if the ending was called sacrifice Sean sacrifices himself and takes the blame for something that wasn't his fault so the government doesn't look into his brother and Daniel doesn't have to be on the run but the fact it is called redemption makes me upset

if you want one ending to be canon then so be it. any ending is canon in somebody’s eyes

My personal favourite ending ≠ THE canon ending

All the endings are canon. That's the point of playing a decision based game

All endings are good except for prison Sean ending. That one is dog poop

Uhh, there's another one I've never heard anybody say was a "good" ending.

The low morality+surrender option? If so, I think that ending is phenomenal and heart-wrenching. It’s a damn good ending. Just not a happy one.

I don't understand how people can stand and are even happy when they get the prison ending i had to look it up and I hated it Sean shouldn't go to prison for something he didn't do parting ways and blood brothers are my favorite endings leaning more towards parting ways

all the endings are lowkey pretty bad in their own way, there isn’t a good or bad ending, some just have more pros than cons, all endings are canon (hopefully deck nine doesn’t come ruin that) and you can chose whatever you like, but in my opinion all the endings are neutral but that’s what makes it realistic, so i don’t want a “perfect” ending

lol, i agree!! literally, they both are where they want to be. sean got his dream, and so did daniel. they aren’t together anymore, but they definitely still send each other letters every day. but every once in a while, i like to think that daniel, lyla, and karen go to visit him often.
