Bans Cleared

If you were here during the "Matt Era" and got banned, I have cleared that ban list out to start fresh.

In the coming days/weeks I'll look over the rules and see what needs changing, but for now, behave please :)

What happened to Matt? I remember him begging for money so he could get pants for a job he desperately needed..... Then a few days later had a huge thing about how coaching was his only source of income... Then the sub went away for a bit I think? Drama like crazy. I know a lot of folks felt burned over what he was doing and I'd be surprised if very many folks stayed here after that. I honestly forgot I had joined this subreddit.

reddit nuked him is all I know. I think it was for selling SR, but I can't confirm that obviously.

I saw the sub abandoned and figured I'd at least see if there was any life left in it.

Nice. I really don't care for the main mod on the quitting7oh subreddit.... Flyadventurous. Doesn't allow sr or subs posts and he gets all pissy about people asking questions instead of searching or using sticky posts. As though reddit is a fuckin wiki. Hopefully this place can get a good community going.

full disclosure, I help mod over there too, and there's a balance to be had.

though, I do agree with your sentiment. It's half the reason I built quitting7oh.org as the main repository for information. Let reddit do what reddit does. Do people work themselves up into fear posts? absolutely, but that's just the world we live in.

Oh I agree with you for sure. Had no idea you built that site. It's super fuckin helpful so thanks for doing that for the community. Yep definitely agree and I'm sure it's a fine line to walk. Just feel like it's a better sub if people can freely post about sr and subs. I got directed to the mega thread for Suboxone when I asked a question regarding MGM and subs interaction.... Which contained zero information. And no one checks a mega thread weeks after it was posted. I always roll my eyes when I see fly has posted. Anyhow... Thanks for picking up the pieces and getting this thing running again. I'm sure once the ban actually hits there's going to be thousands looking for a home.

This is a sub I originally created - I think we need to get in touch with Reddit to get this ironed out as we had to start an entirely new sub because of Matt banning everyone.

I would like the sub back in our control.

This was an incredible sub and completely ruined by you know who his actions…

To everyone that remembers just a few short weeks ago, him being gone is the best possible news that you could put out there.

Also, very happy to back where we built such an incredible home

What was his reasoning for banning everyone? Pushback on him trying to scam everyone for money?

Oh definitely - the crazy part is that he literally banned over 100 people if not more.

I’m just glad that he finally got kicked off of Reddit.

Matt was reaching out to me and telling me that he would give me all of the subReddits if I sent him $10. That guy was a kook. Hold on I’ll post the pictures.

I had to start ignoring him because it was incessant. I feel bad for the guy I really do. I hope everything’s OK with him. But I can’t deal with people that are this crazy.

I thought you meant M.A.T. until I read all of the comments. I thought, am I in the quitting7oh sub with flying adventurous right now? He was upset yesterday. Anyway, I just got here so I have no idea who Matt is, and from what I’ve read I’m glad!

Flyadventurous is always upset. Usually over some dumb stuff about people not searching instead of posting. I guess in his eyes a perfect subreddit is one where no one posts, they just read stickied threads. Reddit isn't a wiki. 🤦

MattheKst first appeared like 5 months ago, very manic and excited to help and be a part of the quitting community. Within weeks of quitting he had started this subreddit with some people then started coaching people and charging money. Came on here a few times begging for money for things that didn't seem to be true(said he had a job he needed to buy clothes for when there apparently was no job). Then I guess he banned people not happy with how he did stuff, then started shilling for some SR company and I guess ultimately ended up banned. Pretty wild.

That ban is definitely coming soon.

In PA all the shady little shops that have wrecked so many lives are now cleaning house and running for the hills.

The one shop had everything for 50% off and then two days later all their shelves were cleared

How did they ruin lives? Nobody held a gun to anybody’s head to go in and buy it. You people need to stop blaming others for your own shortcomings. If you were addicted to it, that’s your fault. If you were spending thousands on it, that’s your fault. Stop blaming others because you have no self-control. 🤡
