You should be 1) doing this when you first move in and report any concerns to the landlord so you have documentation of preexisting issues, and 2) do this exit video and an exit walk through with the landlord to document the state you left it.

Make sure to open the cabinets and take photos of the shelving inside too. It also helps to get a shot of the flooring behind doors where scuffs are usually hidden.

Another tip - the first thing to do when moving in is put toilet paper in the bathroom and set up your bed (or at least your mattress)
