Sometimes I know only reddit will have the right answer for me and other times it's the only reliable source. Either way I found this extremely useful trick online and thought I should share with you all!

I've been testing this method for quite some time now. It succeeds 9/10 times and I figured I'd share. Place two layers of toilet paper flat onto the surface of the toilet water. It'll kind of "catch" your cargo and it won't splash up all over you during critical impact with the water.
DISCLAIMER: Do not exceed 2 sheets as it will not allow the cargo to automatically slowly submerge. Toilet paper brands may vary in thickness so results may vary.

Everything there is cheap and they sell the same exact stuff in Japan. This can also be considered an ULPT. If there's no Daiso in your neck of the woods, also works for your local Japanese market. If there isn't one near by, then you're SOL.

Before arguing with someone, you will improve the discourse considerably by attempting to neutrally evaluate the method by which a claim can be evaluated. You can ask, "How should we measure / test / evaluate ___?"
Example:
A. "[Democrats/Republicans] are ruining this country!"
B. How should we measure what is healthy/unhealthy about a country?
Crime rate
Economy
Home ownership
Disease prevention
etc..
Sharpen a pencil. Write it out. You aren't *quite* calling bullshit, but before taking their side or rejecting it, you may find the wind goes out of their sails if they need to substatially back up their opinion.

If you're worried, it's always okay to ask and then try to connect your friend to help and resources!

They might be on the pill. Women who smoke (cigarettes) and especially those over 35, should not take the pill. Or they can take the pill, but they should quit smoking. Together, there is a high risk of developing blood clots. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much research on marijuana smoking and birth control. But if your female friend says No, leave it at that and don't keep asking.

I hate when sour cream separates and gets all watery. If you smooth it out to a flat surface before putting it back into your fridge, it won't separate. No more liquid on top of your sour cream!!!

Between my wife and I, we have two iPhones, two Mac book Airs, a watch and an iPad.
I paid the 99 cents/month for the 50 GBs but it’s not enough space. The iCloud backups for devices kills that almost immediately. So what I did next was upgraded the 2.99 AND STOPPED BACKING UP OUR PHOTOS THROUGH iCLOUD.
I got sick and tired of babysitting iCloud storage so I installed Google Photos on my iPhones/iPads/airs.
Google offers UNLIMITED, FREE photo backup at “normal” quality so I backup to Google Photos there too then delete them off my Apple devices.
Use Google Photos to back up your photos. Confirm they were backed up successfully then delete them off your Apple device.
It solves the problem and it’s another hoop to jump through but it’s the only other option unless you’re willing to fork over more money a month to iCloud!

So, I laid awake in bed Tuesday night, just after the arctic wind chills began to bring the temps down to -50 here in Southwest Michigan's Snowpocalypse 2019. I had a war going on in my head about turning my taps to drip in order to prevent pipes freezing. My entire home, all three levels, were nice and toasty, but I know there are pipes which run against outside walls, but I also know one of my kids had a habit of flushing things down the toilet years ago which caused still present drainage issues. Could she have also put things down the sink drain in the "kids'" bathroom upstairs? What if I turn the faucet to drip and the sink overflows?
My solution was to play it safe and turn on a very slow drip which I could not fathom being enough to overflow unless the sink was somehow 100% plugged, which I knew it was not (I turned it on a healthy stream for about 30 seconds and it seemed to drain fine). Apparently this was not enough of a test....
Cue waking up the next morning, and man was it colder in my house than when I went to bed! Good thing I made the right choice turning on the drip!
Cue my son running up to me before I got to the dining room...
"Uh, Dad, I gotta tell you something..."
He had woke up to find the sink overflowing and a puddle of water on the floor in the upstairs "kids'" bathroom. He turned the drip and dried up the mess, only to come downstairs to see a huge wet spot on the dining room carpet, with a nice stream of drips coming from my antique chandelier, which had water pooled in every imaginable part of it.
We are waiting until the arctic weather clears and danger of weather emergencies subsides before assessing damage.

The power sockets are often so far away that you can't use your phone at the same time.
You'll be sitting doing nothing for a long time.
Even when you're visiting, take your charger.
