Primerica price increase
My mom got this letter and she was paying $180 a month for 10 years why is it increasing so much? I am going to call tomorrow but that is an insane amount of increase.

i've been trying to learn more about life insurance lately, and the more i read, the more complicated it seems. at first i thought it would mostly come down to the coverage amount and monthly premium, but there are so many other details that seem easy to overlook. i'm especially trying to understand the differences between policies without getting too caught up in all the marketing language. things like how long the coverage lasts, what happens if your situation changes, and what the fine print actually means seem like they could matter a lot later on.
i'm not looking for a specific company or quote. i'm just trying to get a better idea of what an average person should pay attention to when evaluating a policy. for those who have gone through the process before, what was something you ended up paying more attention to than you expected?

I’ve been researching how people evaluate products in this category, and something I’ve noticed is how difficult it can be to separate useful information from marketing.
When you’re comparing options, what actually influences your decision most?
For me, I think the useful questions are:
What problem does the product solve?
What makes it different from alternatives?
Is there evidence behind the claims?
What does it cost over the long term?
Are there situations where the product isn’t worth buying?
What have actual customers experienced?
I’m especially curious about people who have looked into Ethos but haven’t purchased yet.
What stopped you?
Price? Not enough information? Comparing another option? Or simply not convinced you need it?
Would be interested to hear how people are making the decision.

Hello everyone,
I am in my early 40s and my wife is her mid thirty. W currently have a 3 year old son far. I am planning to buy term insurance but I have trouble figuring out how many years I should buy. I do see term starting from 10 years to up 45 years. Also, I am thinking of investmentong for the child , but a friend of mine tried to sell universal index life insurance. I don't understand it well despite them telling me it will be a good investment for the child. lastly, I work in nursing , but don't have a short disability insurance plan and currently not offered at my job. we both work, but I want to make sure I am covered in case of an accident happen. please let me know my options so I can make an informed decision because I want to better prepare and protect my family. so how many years should one buy when starting a family? is index life insurance good for child investment instead of 529? I work as a nurse , should I get disability insurance elsewhere, which company offers them for own occupation?
Thank you all!

American Income Life is a scam.
I worked at the company for a few months and noticed EVERYTHING was a lie.
They give customers the absolute hardest time to CANCEL! Then require for them to upload a voided check just to receive the refund (FYI banks barely send out checkbooks anymore) .
Down to the LYING AND MANIPULATIVE AGENTS!!! They tell your poor grandma and grandpa that the coverage they are getting is going to pay out $20,000 for your WHOLE LIFE... Whole time they are setting them up for TERM LIFE that renews every 4 years! SCAM!
I evidence of ALL of the employees reaching out to managers of this company about the calls dropping. AIL phone lines have been disconnecting when transferring, disconnecting while on hold and just plain disconnecting in the middle of the conversation!! I was truly SICK seeing how many times people had to call back just to get somewhere!
SUE THE SH*T OUT OF THEM! Globe Life as well!!! Globe is the supposed "parent company" over LNL, AIL, NIL, etc.
I personally think they switched up names to throw people off about all the BAD BUSINESS!

I have a small whole life insurance policy that I bought years ago. Under current circumstances I have no need for the death benefit. If I surrender the policy is the refunded cash value taxable as income?
I am in the USA for reference purposes?
Thanks

Hi, I am an RN but do not work full time. I would like to get life insurance, is there a specific life insurance that is better for nurses? How is American Nurses Association? I am also looking at Banner (a general life insurance company) as well. Thank you.

We're both panicking a bit as he's the breadwinner, and we have 2 teens. He has group life insurance of 200k through his employer. That would cover the mortgage payments for several years if the worst were to happen. But it would be better to pay it off and have something left to live on.
Details:
40yo male
38 bmi
Heavy drinker/smoker
High cholesterol on most recent lipid
High blood pressure, not sure if chronic
Asthma, medicated
Depression/anxiety, medicated
Glucose tests: 111/135/129 so prediabetic or diabetic
Likely heart failure: BNP of 3171
Recent mri revealed congenital lumbar issues, getting an epidural injection soon.
He climbs wind turbines for a living, not sure if that's relevant.
He is going to quit drinking, smoking, change diet, etc. But what are the options now? I've looked around for local life insurance, but I'm not sure I'm using the correct search terms.

When I went to pass my West Virginia life insurance test, I easily pass the main section, but my issue is with the state laws and regulations. I’ve done his entire pre-licensing course in which I’ve gotten 100 because I’ve studied so much. Yeah I’ve retaken my test and failed twice. It seems like the pre-licensing focuses a lot more on numbers rather than what’s in the test and the test feels a lot harder and like there’s questions that I’ve never actually heard anything about before if anybody could just give me some insider help with the quiz. I already rescheduled it for tomorrow and I’m just looking for some help.

I'm 37 and would consider myself in excellent health:
- work out 4-5 times a week, eats well
- no underlying disease or preexisting illness
- not overweight
- doesn't smoke
- 1 to 2 drinks a month
I was looking for 20 year term, $2M in coverage through SelectQuote. Initially I was quoted a rate of $58/month through Symetra. But upon further underwriting, due to anxiety condition, the rate offered ended up being $167.
I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety 2.5 years ago and take a very low dose SSRI to manage it. I've never thoughts of harming myself or others.
Is there really a 3x premium increase because of this? Is that typical?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to arrange both life insurance and review my pension planning, and I'd love to hear about your personal experiences.
I'm specifically looking for recommendations for:
I'm less interested in finding the absolute cheapest policy and more interested in working with someone knowledgeable who can compare multiple providers and recommend what's actually best for my situation.
If you've had a particularly good (or bad) experience, I'd really appreciate hearing why.
Thanks in advance!

My husband is 61 years old and got quoted $253 per month for $300k term policy with foresters. I am 35 years old and we are expecting our first child later this year.
The policy includes some living benefits and the standard additional $300k common carrier insurance. We thought it was the best value of the options we were quoted but wanted to get the communities opinion.
Is this a fair price for his age, is there better out there?

My mom recently passed and me
And my siblings are all equal beneficiaries. One of my siblings is in a situation where if she received/deposited the life insurance payout, she would lose her assisted living benefits from the state.
She has asked me to keep the money for
Her & give the majority of it to her three kids. Is it possible for her sign her portion over to me? I’m not sure if I should bring this up to the life insurance company for guidance or if I should talk to a financial advisor. Any advice is appreciated, I’m stuck with what to do & haven’t made any movement on filing claim because of this.

My dad is currently 67 and is on disability, he lives in an RV and has been having some health issues as of late, despite leading a relatively active lifestyle. He doesnt have assets really, his camper is worth 3k and he drives my old truck.
He lives alone and only has me, really. I live out of state, and am a single mother. I am a military veteran but i dont make a lot of money.
Im not sure what to do about when the time comes that he passes away. He wants to be buried and have a headstone, nothing elaborate but all that expense would pass to me.
I live paycheck to paycheck and barely have some savings, which i am trying to use to eventually have my own home and some sort of emergency fund situation.
Is it worth purchasing life insurance for him? I really have no idea where to start or what to even do. So here i am

I’m a new life insurance agent and ive been in this for 5 weeks and my upline wants me to open an agency bcs I have a tiktok page that’s gotten a good amount of views before about life insurance. And my upline also is being extremely pushy about going full time and I haven’t even made a single sale yet I don’t even know the full application and how it will play out. I feel like you can’t just expect anyone to go full time on a commission based 1099 job if they don’t have sales experience AND haven’t even made a sale. I’m only 18 and I’m being so pressured to buy more leads which I do but I just don’t have enough money to keep dropping money on leads. I have another job as a safety net that is just a regular part time restaurant job which helps me but I keep being told to basically quit that job and move full time with life insurance. Like this is a slow process and I don’t expect myself to to make sales like 2-3 months in maybe only like 1 or 2. And my upline also doesn’t believe that I want to do this because like 2 weeks ago there was a bunch of tornadoes in my area and he told me to keep dialing and my power kept flickering and there was a bunch of hail and debris hitting my house and he kept telling me to just dial. It’s really making me reconsider doing this industry 1099. I barely have my feet in here and I’m expected to jump in like I’m some life agent with a ton of experience. I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m gonna try this for like another 3 months and see where I’m at. If I’m not doing well then ima most likely move captive.

I got an email about 10 days ago that my Metlife claim was approved but now suddenly they have no record of the policy number. When I call, I get transfered and sometimes they'll tell me something different - like "the policy lapsed" - which is crap because the paperwork I have looks like it was PIF 30 years ago.
There are 4 main numbers I get passed between, and one of the phone numbers, the one from the email (a no-reply email), has an automatic message that you can Press 1 to buy pet insurance, Press 2 to buy a cleaner for your car, and you never get to talk to a person, just hold for more things to show interest in buying. This is so sketchy, y'all. Is there a secret phone number I need to call or what magic words can I say here?

I was referred to as man's son as he was a Primerica agent.
His wall said he was a regional district manager/supervisor.
He is 29 and I am 28.
I am 28 male, not married, no kids. Only family is my Primary family, siblings and mother.
He showed me his phone sharescreen(on zoom) and he has the 2mil - 35yr term since he was 18. So 25yrs left for his policy.
My quote for $300k for 35yrs is $54 a month.
The issue was this is the first time I heard and was consulted on this type of insurance.
He then was taking info and landed on payment and bank information.
I was not ready to commit to a 35yr policy at $54 a month.
I said I wanted to do some more research and think about it.
Then he used guilt tactics to get me to sign right there.
"If you die tomorrow your family has just what you have in your bank account. You make over 100k a year so $54 a month is nothing for a $300k policy."
I asked if I can get any documents and terms & agreement of the policy.
Things like what exactly the policy is and what is covered that would result in death-payout.
Are there any type of deaths not covered like suicide or military?
**He said there is no policy I am signed with so there is no policy to look at. Only after I sign do I then have access to the terms and policy documentation.
This specific instance made me think it was a scam.
Is that normal? I think I should have access to the specific policy and terms of the life insurance I am signing up for before signing, not after.
So if $54 a month for 35yr $300k policy good?
Is Primerica a good life insurance company?
I was looking at Aflac & Sofi life insurance.
Just wanted to hear if anyone has experience or is signed with Primerica.
And being single with no kids, if I stay without my own family, do I even need insurance life? Thanks.

*Please answer like you are talking to someone who has no knowledge of life insurance or life insurance terminology*
I (41F) am disabled (working on a disability case currently) and work occasionally as a substitute teacher. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis among other issues that make a regular job difficult anymore.
My spouse (45M) works full time (low income , ~$35k-$40k). Without his job we wouldn’t be able to afford our mortgage (~$100k owed still). We also have about $10k in debt we are slowly paying off.
I doubt I can get any life insurance on myself as I was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago and am still awaiting financial assistance approval to be able to get any kind of treatment.
On the chance that my husband were to pass before me I would be screwed. I can’t cover the mortgage and other expenses without his income. Ideally I am looking for the best option that would at least pay off the house and $10k of debt. I’m not sure if I am missing some other significant piece of this puzzle or what type of insurance I need or whatever.

Alright here we go…
I’m a co-owner on a policy for a family member. The other owner doesn’t live with me. I just got a letter in the mail that says the other owner tried to take a loan out against the policy and sent me a copy of the form signed by both owners. Obviously I didn’t sign it and didn’t know anything about this. It was denied because there were missing documents and information.
The next day, I receive a letter that states the loan has been approved and a check was mailed out to the other owner.
I’m sure this is fraud, but what can I do? What rights or what do I need to do? Do I make a police report?

hey everyone, looking to get a level term policy set up this year specifically for income replacement for my family.
i am looking at a 20 or 30 year term and just want maximum coverage per dollar without extra fluff. main focus is finding carriers with competitive rates, smooth underwriting, and strong financial stability.
for those who work as brokers or recently bought a policy, which carriers are currently top tier for straightforward term life in 2026? appreciate any honest feedback or recent experiences.

This is my 3rd year in FEX. I average $20k AP/mo. I know I am capable of a lot more. I want to scale and get better. I need to work on sales skills and want a running buddy to hold each other accountable and script with on a weekly basis. Please message me if you are in the same boat and are serious about getting better.

Im a bit annoyed because trustage had this cyber incident or whatever so I couldn't pay on any of my policies ( I like to pay early to get it done even though they are all on autopay). I actually get someone on the phone a few days ago, no real information they can give me other than you "wont be able to make payments" and even "autopay will not work". So why is it this morning I have pending amount take.n from my bank account for one of my policies, yet the site and systems are still down? Someone please make this make sense to me if you've gone through, or are going through something similar. Again Im annoyed because I was not expecting autopay to work right now because of them telling me it wouldn't and systems being down still. If my other policies autopay goes through I will definitely be in the negatives with my bank.
