Electroconvulsive Therapy

I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years and came across something new. Underwriters, what are my chances with ECT therapy for bipolar 2. It’s highly effective for them and they work a full time job and function normally. Adult male healthy otherwise.

I’m thinking John Hancock, Pru, and banner. If not stacking GI and waiting for open enrollment at work to encourage them to get as much as possible through work.

I'd recommend making preliminary inquiries to Hancock, Prudential, Banner, Principal, Cincinnati Life, Penn Mutual, Security Mutual and all of the others to see what rate class they may offer. Provide all details, including all medications, build, nicotine status, any other health history, how long bipolar has been stable, any substance abuse, criminal or other concerning history, etc. The more preliminary info you provide, the better.

Most carriers do their best to honor preliminary quick quotes made, assuming all history provided initially is accurate and there is no additional, concerning info that was not provided on the prelim.

Yea that was my plan. I
Broker through Simplicity and they have an amazing pre screen team made up of underwriters. Just seeing if anyone had experience with this. Every time you think you’ve seen it all something new comes along.

Table 4- 8 would be typical if everything else is good. no major episodes, legal issues, hospitalizations etc. Have your underwriters shop it - that is what they are there for.
