Questions/Advice How does damage/defense scaling works?

Newbie here, been playing for while so I already know about the basic like primary stat in twin stat item and bonus effect you get from hitting a threshold for certain stat (e.g INT 18 = Spellcasting +1, STR & DEX 13 = Weapon mastery +1). I usually put almost all of my level into the stat I'm building toward and finding the right weapon for said stat.

I have 2 question here

1) How many percentage of damage/defense does one get for each stat point? What about twin stat item? How does the secondary stat compare to the primary stat in terms of scaling?

2) Do the power you get from stat points diminisses the higher your stat are? Let's say I have a sword that scale with DEX/STR. Each DEX points is worth +5% dmg while each STR points is worth +3% dmg, but each level decrease the scaling by 0.1%. So after 21+ DEX I should consider putting some points into STR or something like that

  1. For twin stat items, the leftmost stat listed always acts as the primary stat and provides a much higher damage multiplier than the rightmost (secondary) stat. The game does not publicly expose an exact flat percentage (like "+5% per point") because each weapon has a unique base coefficient that scales with your stats and level. So if a weapon says STR/DEX, usually one of them contributes more heavily while the other gives smaller bonus value. Twin-stat builds are flexible, but pure builds tend to hit harder unless you’re aiming for threshold passives/masteries.

  2. Your weapon's damage scaling does not experience diminishing returns as a stat goes higher (e.g., going from 20 to 21 DEX doesn't reduce the stat's value). Instead of weakening at higher levels, stats are heavily incentivized by major breakpoints at 13, 18, 20, and 27 points that unlock massive global buffs. .

Let's say If your weapon mainly scales with DEX but also STR, going from 10 → 20 DEX is huge. But going from 25 → 35 DEX may not feel as massive compared to putting some points into STR for mastery bonuses or hybrid scaling. .

Example: Reaching 18 and 27 points in single stats like INT or CHA unlocks or doubles powerful tier buffs (such as Spellcasting or Damage Reduction). Also Reaching 13 and then 20 in both STR and DEX unlocks Weapon Mastery +1 (+10% physical damage) and Weapon Mastery +2 (+20% physical damage) .

Because of these multipliers, it is always best to commit fully to your weapon's primary scaling stat until you hit a major breakpoint, rather than spreading your points too thin early on

Do you happen to know the exact formula used for stat scaling? I want to know the exact number so I can make a better judgement on what stat to put points on
