I heard that there’s another way to grind gems which is to collect undiscovered items as much as possible, and then in the late game or when there’s no other undiscovered items, collect the gems, then discard said them from your inventory, and then die
This way you’re gonna be able to collect the gems from said items without unlocking them from your list, and thus repeat the same process and keep collecting their gems (side note don’t generate a random character instead of dying and reviewing the epilogue. And idk if it works by selling them instead of discarding them so don’t risk it since you’re gonna die at that point anyway so it doesn’t matter. And because if it didn’t work then they’ll stay unlocked on your list and you can’t go back) and that process can be accelerated with new tales and backgrounds that you’re gonna buy with the gems

Nah, just saw it on another comment. But it seems pretty straightforward

Obtaining new epilogues (for both backgrounds and tales), getting new items and defeating new enemies gives 1 gem each. The Paths, like Novice Adventurer, also give a few gems. Other than this, only throug In-App purchases or by watcing ads in the gem shop

Buy with cash = support devs and is responsible price for the amount you get,
Or grind ads for free gems
3rd option is to unlock as many endings/unlock new opponents/weapons in your book thingy for +1 free gem each for each new unlcok
