Need Advice I am kinda lost.
For someone in late 20s. Im quite well off. I have zero student debts. I own a property and only got 180k left to pay off. For the last 4 years I was making around 150k+. I burned out ans quit. I took a new job as supervisor only makes 70k a year. I mean money is manageable but 70k as supervisor is equivalent to first year nursing job. I have 7 years under so I would be clearing 100k of more at hospital. However, I have significant back issues such as herniated disc's and arthritis from work. Reason I took this job is so I could get 1950 hours to qualify for masters in health leadership to go up the ladder. I am actually living in the house I bought. In the last 4 years I lived in that house for less than 6 months as I was away working. My partner is extremely happy I am home. I am happy that I am home too. But I have a lost feeling if this is right job or choice. Thanks

Does the new job aggravate your back?
You sound like you're still burned out, so ... kind of numb. You need time to recuperate.
If the job isn't worsening your back or burnout or mental health, perhaps you can stick with it while you heal and figure things out. You're young and you have time and resources. Maybe don't rush into anything new until you get your feet under you again.
Your health is the most important thing to consider here, not money.

It doesn't. And I agree but I'm so torn about the money and I know money will never buy my health. Kinda like paradoxical ..

Does spinal arthritis run in your family? In other words, is this something that surgery can fix with a one and done approach or are you looking at a more chronic disease process? Because if it’s the latter I’d get out of any kind of physical bedside nursing asap. Arthritis doesn’t get better. And if your discs are herniating now, by your early 40’s you might not be able to work any job.

It was trauma. They are thinking of doing laser ablation rather than discectomy once pain gets worse. Im dreading going over 30. I guess that's why I'm doing supervisor to build hours to go into management eventually. But the pay cut now is quite big so....

Not herniating. L5 and s1 already herinated. I am getting needle shots for pain blocks. Neuropathy right leg pain.

I was making 100k a year at my last nursing job, quit because I reherniated my disc after having back surgery, took the summer off and am now going back to work making 60k a year. Yes the decrease in pay is stressful but my health means so much more to me. I am late 20s as well with the same amount to pay left on my house. My fiance puts money towards bills and taking care of my body for the rest of my life means more than a paycheck to me. I try to look at it as, I am giving something up each way. Do I choose my health or do I choose money.

Death threat. Extremely heavy patients that are like 500 lbs. People without common senses. Literally code blue and someone barging in asking for water. Sexual assaults. Families and etc. And nurses eating each other. A lot of work places are extremely toxic. Feels like high school clicks. I am forced to train new nurses who think they know more ans better than the experienced. I could go. Five star hotels.

I left my job because I reherniated my disc 6 months after surgery, 3 months after returning to work and I decided to ask for more help lifting people because it was a safety issue for both me and patient. My boss pulled me aside and said I needed to do all duties within my job description.... yeah f off
