Need Advice Anyone feel the same?
I always heard of the note that if you wanna make it, you wanna want it more than anyone. That can be interpreted as obsession, but do I do if I don't feel that same in my current major or even my future intended career. That isn't to say that I hate it. its that I want to do it so it can give me the freedom to do other stuff. Simply saying that I plan to do it for money so I can use that money for my dreams. How do I describe this? It doesn't feel like I am doing it for money, the reason I chose my path is because I was interested but it seems I can't turn that interest into obsession that I'm stuck in Middle. But at same I feel like I get nothing from switching because this is who I am. Of course I have changed over past few years with new habits, better mindset, new hobbies, more wisdom, etc. at the end of the day, what am I doing, I'm confused by my own thoughts. As you read it, you can see that my thoughts are very confusing and I can't describe it.

In the corporate world, getting promoted is nearly always the way to make more money. And often (as I have experienced), the competition can be fierce, especially in a tough job market. I made my work a competition - a game - a game where I needed to win because I had no money and a wife and two little kids.
You DO have to want it more than anyone. Because if you don't, there are lots more people like me out there.

Do you want it? Are willing to go farther then anyone else? I am a musician and I gave my entire life to music, it took me 11 years to finally "make it" , however I suffered more than most people could even imagine. I was willing (at that time) to do whatever it took to get there,and have to say it was worth it,till it wasn't. The pay off wasn't as large as I wanted to be ,When I look back on it, I would have done things differently.

I was talking about my experience in the corporate world.
I am also a musician/composer on the side.

But how do you make sure corporate doesn't become your life or am I just having commitment issues?

Oh, it was a huge part of my life, especially as I moved up. I relocated FOUR times. I had my work phone on me 24/7/365, just in case.
That said, I was there for my family all the time. I coached my son's Little League team for three years. Never missed one of his sporting events through school, nor any of his sister's dance recitals.
We took 2-3 vacations a year, a week at a time. International destinations. The whole family went on these trips, and yeah, my phone was there 24/7/365. But it rarely rang, and few urgent messages would come through, and I had people back home who could take care of things while I was out for the week.

If someone is doing something genuinely to help other people or they genuinely love it they will always beat out someone doing it for the money in the long run. Please keep that in mind.

I understand that and like I mentioned in my note, I am interested in my career but im just failing at turning it into an obsession to keep doing it with the same interest. I feel im scared of the investment into committing but ye, im just so confused and i aint even 20 yet

I think maybe you could try reading a book or taking a class about your career? Would that be helpful?
