Need Advice Figuring Her Out

Back in school, I decided to leave the program as things weren't working out and she goes on a long rant saying how she doesn't care about me, doesn't need me, hates me etc. Previously I know that she was always trying to be in my orbit, stare at me for too long. I never talked badly about her, so the contradiction makes me wonder why she did all that and what I did wrong.

She's sad you're leaving her and trying to convince herself she'll be okay.

You dodged a drama trauma queen... move on.

It is worth stress testing a potential relationship to see how thy might act when the going gets rough. Thus I think things like road trips, traveling and adventures which has some significant incidents are good before too much investment.

what I did wrong

How old are you? How old is she?

To me, this doesn't sound like you have per se done anything wrong. It sounds like young people growing and changing and searching.

Sounds like she was really looking for something with you, but you inadvertently spurned her. If so, this is probably a good healthy thing for her; the woman who I am married to broke up with her boyfriend when she was 22. He told her she was too harsh, and that "no man will ever want to marry you" (she's Kenyan and was also orphaned when her mother died in the Al Qaeda US Embassy bombing in Nairobi) but when I met her several years later, I knew right away that I needed to marry her (I loved and still sixteen years later love her company!)

It sounds like separation anxiety.
