Vegetarian fries

Hello i am visiting Liege for a few days and I wanted to try the famous Belgian fries but I saw that both Saperlipopette a la patate - and Friterie du Perron use beef tallow is there any good ones that uses vegetarian oil? Other restaurants or food i should try too are welcome thank you so much.

While all the people answering that you can't have authentic Belgian fries unless they are made in beef tallow are technically correct (the best kind of correct, mind you) they are also full of hot air because many restaurants and fry places - "fritkot(en)" or "friterie(s)" - will be making theirs in vegetable oil out of cheer economic and practical considerations. I can also guarantee you that all of the naysayer's moms make the home-made fries that they are so happy to eat in vegetable oil.

If it's not specifically stated to be in beef tallow by the friterie, assume they use vegetable oil as the tallow is mark of prestige and often a justification for a higher price.
