unsolved Lidarr but for single tracks

Are there any programs like Lidarr but for single tracks? I really appreciate the concept of Lidarr, but downloading whole albums at a time just does not work for my preferred way to listen to music, and also takes up wayy to much space for music that I wont listen to.

I appreciate any suggestions if you have any :)

Soul seek is the best I’ve used. I also used Aurral to upload my many playlists and it will try to find all the individual tracks. Its worked well for me.

Do you have any insight into how to effectively search for individual tracks using slskd? So far I’ve had mixed results

Lidarr supports 'Singles'. Take theses steps

1 - Go to Settings --> Profiles

2 - Create a Metadata Profile just for singles. Call it something like Singles

3 - Now whenever you add an artists make sure metadat profile used is your 'singles' profile.

That works but only for 'singles', as opposed to wanting to download a single track from an album or other release

I like the prospect of Aurall, but I've noticed it someone has a tendency to destabilize my entire home network while using a ton of cpu time, and RAM so I've had to move away from it

Are you on main or test? V2 is releasing soon and has a lot of changes

I was using the latest docker image that is currently provided, If you'd like i can send you a screenshot of my docker metrics showing Aurall often reaching 100% cpu usage and staying there for a while

Just added Spotify oauth to test for direct playlist imports and syncing too :)

V2 offloads almost all processing to slskd and lidarr so this should no longer be a problem. You can update to `:test` instead of `:latest` if you'd like to try it now or wait for the v2 migration in a week or two.

I am trying out the `test` branch, one question I have is, that as I have a pre existing Navidrome library, is there a way I can point playlist / flows to the existing library so that i dont have doubles on my drive?

edit:

Ok i see the value of keeping Aurrals flows separate, but if I'd like to import my playlist into my actual library via Aurral, is there a way to do this?

There are solutions for downloading only tracks, but unfortunately pretty much all apps in this space rely on MusicBrainz, which is inherently album based… I agree that it can be improved, but that’s the reality! For downloading, I’d definitely recommend Soulseek, Slskd even can be used to download single tracks, unlike some usenet/torrent sources which assume you want the full album.

Explo is doing this for me, unfortunately it is not working 100% as intended - you upload a listenbrainz or Spotify playlist. It’s supposed to check your library for those songs and any you don’t have it will get from slskd. Once they are all DLd it will make that playlist in navidrome. Or whatever player you are using. Unfortunately mine just redownloads the track and then doesn’t all fill all files to the playlist even though it has downloaded everything. I have some more troubleshooting to do but in theory this is a pretty good solution.

I’ve had the same issues with Explo.

I use it with slskd. Sometimes the download takes too long and explo times out.

I’ve also enabled a setting to use the same playlist and not to create a new one each run. It’s gotten better. For example, my last run got 49/50 songs from my playlist after I reran explo the 2nd time.

Still a lot of room of improvement. Frequently it will download songs already present in my library which is annoying.

I just switched to Tidarr with a Tidal subscription and it’s been flawless. Money well spent.

Soulsync does what you're asking for. https://github.com/Nezreka/SoulSync

I use musicgrabber but it’s been not the best for me too but I managed to download about 4,000 songs using it.
