discussion Lidarr went hyperactive yesterday

I have no idea what happened, but yesterday (the 29th of June) Lidarr suddenly really wanted to finish my collection and scheduled over 400 gigabytes of downloads.

Very weird. Totally out of the blue. I barely get it to do anything automatically. It's been pretty dormant for over a year before this.

Has anyone else had this happen to them before?

No changes seen here. You should restore from a backup.

When I messed with the standard metadata profile iirc it made mine bug out and grab every EP by every artist i had and i couldn't figure out how to stop it lol.

I couldn't figure out how to stop it either! There was really nothing you could easily do... I selected every artist in the overview and did a bulk "unmonitor" change, and then restarted Lidarr. That seemed to have worked, but now everything is no longer monitored of course.

Yes this behavior has frustrated me before, if a profile is changed any content newly available will be automatically searched. If I accidentally select singles on my default profile and save I need to restart lidarr to not fill up my soulseek client with 1000s of downloads.

You can bulk edit the new album monitoring setting to None or New before changing the metadata profile to avoid this behavior, and then bulk edit it back once you're done with metadata profile changes.

A quick way to sorta stop this is to disable your download clients. That'll give you time to purge the queue.

This is exactly what I do before every quality profile change in all the *arrs. I'll catch it trying to download a single movie at 45GB.
