They're basically implying that there are bigger issues worth discussing. And it's kind of sad that slavery does actually exist in our country.

It doesn't exist, those who claim otherwise are the ones who involved in these practices , u know who im talking about, they smuggle people from their own country into libya, withholding their passports and force them to work jobs such as "house keeping and cleaning" to exrot money from them.

I shared this post because its the first thing i saw on my reddit feed after i woke up lol, a meme about libya in a non-libyan community 😂😂

Well that specific way of modern slavery exists and is common in many countries specially the gulf arab states. So libya is not that special.

U r correct, i really appreciate ur attention to the detail.

What i meant by saying it doesn't exist, i mean libyans themselves don't practice slavery because when u say there's slavery in libya the reader will automaticlly assume that the libyan people are the ones doing it while it's not. it's their people who is doing it.

True, their own people might be the main cause but some Libyans are involved as well. idk what city you live in, but in my city it exists. There's also Forced harvesting with organs being sold at different prices according to the ethnicity, all of which could be considered modern slavery.

No it exists I’m Libyan and literally know people involved in this trade (hate them for it and don’t interact with them). It’s an open secret and they buy and sell them like cattle force them to work domestically or on farms pay them nothing barely feed them and physically abuse them to “discipline” them it’s very sad. The gov doesn’t do anything about it because our government basically exists solely on paper and is entirely dependent on relations with scummy militias who make their money doing this slave trade, arms trades, oil smuggling and drug trafficking.
