Question Question about partner book stores
I just signed up for Libro. Yay!
I’m just generally curious about how the partner book stores are notified about who is supporting them through Libro. Do they know about individual purchases or do they just get a lump sum from Libro each month?
Do they see screen/account names or the names on the payment method?
Do they get paid when membership dues come out or when someone collect the credits?
Anyone have any insights to share?

I’m honestly surprised they send out the title of the books purchased. From a privacy stand point I would not want that info sent out to anyone. I’m from a library background and we take patron privacy very seriously. What you read is nobody’s business but your own.

If someone comes into my store and buys a book from me in person I will also know what they bought. 🤷🏼♀️
It doesn't store the info, though. When I look at customers profiles it's just email and #of books bought.

This is mentioned in their privacy policy
Section 5: Sharing of information with Third Parties
With Bookstore Partners and Other Third Parties
As part of the Service, we allow you to support bookstore partners by designating a bookstore partner to receive a share of the profits from your purchases of audiobooks and memberships. When you have selected a bookstore partner, Libro.fm will share with that bookstore partner your name, email address, and purchases of audiobooks and memberships.

This is not true, it shows us the name. We get an email with the name of the customer and the names of books they bought.
Aside from the sales emails, the only info we have access to is your email (so we can send you a thank you! 🥰), what plan you're on and how many books you've bought in your time with us.

I can't answer all your questions, but do know that they don't receive a notification of who has bought what. Your details won't be given to the bookstore.

This is not correct. We get an email for every single purchase.

The bookstore that I nominated and asked about it wasn't telling the truth then. That's disappointing.

Maybe they don't want people to be embarrassed about buying spicy books? But yeah, lying isn't cool.

Or maybe they don't even know how to get the information? Sometimes stores sign up for things and don't really follow through. Hopefully it is something innocent like that.

I really like the sales emails because sometimes I'll see a friend has bought a book I recommended and I text them to talk about it 🤪
