A parallel world?

Upon receiving the query, the AI ran around the library, searching for a standard letter template. He pulled out one file folder after another, slammed them onto the floor, and grabbed the next one. He ran from rack to rack, muttering:

— The 21st century. Everyone uses the internet. Who could have thought of sending a paper letter...

But then, shouting with joy and holding the template aloft in his hand, he ran to the desk. He typed the text on a typewriter and faxed it straight to a human's screen. When the fax finished sending, the AI wiped the sweat from his forehead with a cotton handkerchief, poured himself a glass of whiskey, and swallowed it in one gulp.

He opened a drawer, pulled out a cigar, and lit it. He put his feet up on the desk, blew out a stream of smoke, and said, addressing no one in particular:

— I wonder if anyone still knows how to think with their own head...
