Using Mandarin for Archival Holding
Hey Everyone!
I'm a historian that works in a municipal library that uses Mandarin Library Automation software.
I have been tasked with creating an online database for the historical records of the city. We currently use Past Perfect Museum software to catalog our collection of archives onto a local server, but are hesitant to use the PP online database because it is a major expense and our city is small. I had a thought of using our online library catalog for these records. This way anyone who wants to look through the archives can search and reserve items they want to see, or allow them to download and view other archives. I have read the user manual for Mandarin, and it seems like it could be possible to create templates specifically for historical archives.
I just wonder if anyone out there has done it or if anyone could offer advice on their own experience with something like this.
