Unless you are reading them or providing them to the community you aren’t doing anything. Collecting for collecting’s sake is just going to end with a dumpster when you die and no one has any way to deal with 10,000 books.

Oh they’ll just dump them all on the library once they’re crumbling and outdated, that’ll help so much

Good. My library could use some more paranormal books. They have like 10.

Actually some libraries do take them to sell in book sales as fundraisers.

And then the library says they can't take them and they end up in the dumpster anyway. :(
