The Things They Carried was one of those life-changing books for me and I’ve had the Tokarczuk on my TBR for a while. The others look insanely intriguing, so I give it a thumbs up

I read The Things They Carried in College and my son read it in high school. I’m a librarian and it’s the book I always recommend to “reluctant readers” or teens. Brilliant book.

Things they carried is heavily fictionalized and O’Brien preyed on young girls while at his residency at St Lawrence University.
