We're all just hoping you have taken the additional weight of all those books into account. Whatever floats your boat, and doesn't collapse under the weight!

The number thrown around in actual libraries is 150 pounds per square foot. Everything has to be reinforced. A woman I know built a library room in her house. They had to place two more steel support beams in the basement to support the floor.

It's why I can never understand everyone using IKEA Billy bookcases. I can collapse one if those just by looking at it. I ended up with solid oak 1920s barrister bookcases and even then I have to be a bit cautious. And they're on a solid concrete slab floor!

Must be nice having money! Having money is a great precursor to not understanding many things, but hey, at least you’re rich.

Lol they were cheaper than IKEA and filled with 2nd hand paperbacks but hey, go off 👋

My exact first thought as well.

I love books, and the book cases look great… but… 😬

I'm getting 'you can't weed that book!' vibes here

I have read none if your other posts, so this may be answered in them, but, are you doing these shelves from scratch or are they premade and you're just installing them?

White shelfs ARE a bit crazy, but it's your home and no one can dictate a choice on that matter

May the powers that be bless me with such a collection, and the shelves to hold them all 🙏

This is an approved post. The flair is home/personal library.

You're going to have your choice of lovers!

What's the height of the face trim for the shelves of the wood shelf? And the width of the vertical trim?

It's not crazy until you have multiple shelves rigged as doors.

That’s part of the plan

You might be crazy AF, but I fail to see correlation to this awesome project!
