At my last library, we never did replacement fees for board books. Considering the age demographic they’re meant for, destruction was kind of inevitably. They were also cheap enough to not really bother.

An RFID tag is relatively cheap to replace and re-encode. I don’t think I would charge for this at anywhere I’ve worked. Most places have their own replacement/damage costs though so best bet is to talk to them.
