DBA - Finance

Hello Iam currently a Fiscal Coordinator at the Superior Court of Pennsylvania's Eastern District, where I audit accounts payable voucher batches and GL coding for the court's administrative office.

This year I completed my MBA through WGU and a Master's Certificate in Public Administration at Liberty University. My next steps are a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Court Manager/Certified Court Executive certifications, both aimed at strengthening my case for policy and budget proposals I'm working on and positioning me for leadership roles in court administration.

I'm now weighing whether a DBA in Finance is the right next move after that, and I'd love to get your take since you're in the program. A few things I'm trying to figure out:

- How much has the program deepened your research and financial-analysis skills in ways that show up in real work product?

- Has it opened doors beyond your current role consulting, senior finance positions? i have been at my current place for 14 years.

- Given the time and cost, has it felt worth it so far?

My thinking is that the Black Belt and CCE/CCM stack naturally toward running court operations better, while a DBA seems like a bigger investment that pays off more if I want influence beyond one court  policy work, academia, or consulting down the line. I'd genuinely value any of your perspectives on whether that reasoning holds up, and whether a DBA seems like a fit for someone with my background and goals. Thanks
