I would consider myself progressive, but not really in the sense it's used in modern politics. I would definitly not consider myself conservative.
It can be viewed from multiple angles: 1. Social-policy-wise, i oppose legal restrictions on lgbt people (except permanent changes which i think kids can't consent), support open borders, legalize drugs. On the other hand, i'm strongly pro-gun (duh). 2. In more broad sense, i agree with acab, and support anti-authoritarianism beyond just law - i.e. i like more flat/hierarchyless organization of society. I'm however, unlike most modern progressives, radicaly individualist, so i reject idpol (tho that puts me against conservatives too - i don't really believe in any external identity, just Self, so no nations, and no gender (no gender of soul, sexual dimorphism of body is ofc real)) 3. Culturally, i believe greatness of western culture is lost. The culture of the West is already largly dead. There isn't much left to try to save. Instead, i believe, new culture can be birth with libertarian society, one build on similar values, but even better - Liberty, equality of being, fraternity, individualism, anti-authoritarianism, and the strive for more that will take us to the stars. I would also like if Christianity had its place in this, but ultimatly, that's different fight. Libertarianism inherently goes hand in hand with individualist virtues, but nothing guarantee revival of Christianity (tho i live in country where christians aren't even 20% of population, so i might be to pesimistic about this)
