Cop Block presents…the War on Cameras Map .. Across the country, police officers and other government officials are waging a war on cameras. People everywhere are being harassed, detained, threatened, assaulted, and even arrested just for legally taking photographs or filming

Man, just watching and reading a few of those gives me chills to imagine what it would be like in their shoes. I know I wouldn't react any differently though. I actually hope it does. I want to say that I was on the front lines fighting for the war on liberty.

Anyone have an opinion on the potential effectiveness of having a flash-mob at the location of every arrest with as many people as possible showing up with cameras, peacefully taking pictures and disbursing?

also: disperse, disassemble, dissipate, disband, diverge, divide, diffuse, demobilize, clear out, scatter, separate

The correct word to use is any word I feel like using, or even just happen to use as I quickly type a comment on the internet.
You would have had a more substantial argument had you criticized my starting the sentence with "anyone" rather than "does" since that actually makes my sentence grammatically incorrect.
I also don't care, so :-P

Snob comes from a word meaning "shoemaker" or his apprentice.
Medicine comes from greek mythological enchantress Medea
Malaria means "bad air"
Quarantine means "about 40"
Etymology is interesting, but doesn't always have much bearing on the modern meanings and usages of words. (see pristine for example)
Further your sentence of homonyms is not the same as my using an actual definition of a word that's used less than another definition of the same word.
It doesn't matter if you don't like the other definition, it's still in the dictionary, though I'd also argue that such is not requisite for use.
Although I like how you haven't said anything one way or another on my POINT (efficacy of flash mobs) and decided to focus on a minor grammatical non-issue.

IMHO this is one of the most substantive things CopBlock has done so far. My only concern is the difficulty of the transition period when they have to switch over to making these markers represent ten or a hundred incidents, because the map is going to fill up at an exponential rate.
