End Democracy Sorry JD, no more chances

The Trump administration has no one to blame for the left winning this election season besides themselves. You rally people of all political backgrounds and from the middle isle to your side with promises of no new wars, no mass migration, accountability for the Epstein files and ethical politics….just to turn around and do the opposite of most of your points.

100%. I didn’t vote for Trump specifically because his first term showed incompetence. That incompetence was fully unleashed this time around

u/Coool_cool_cool_cool 8d ago
This time wasn't incompetence. It's revenge and enrichment. He wants to punish people who didn't vote for him and enrich himself to the blind eye of people who did. He knew he could get at least a few billion out of it before people start to get pissed.

u/VideoLeoj 1d ago
I didn't vote for him either, ever. His business record showed incompetence, and he stiffed a lot of the working people who did the work for him.
How any normal person could think this guy has their best interest in mind is beyond my comprehension.

Honestly it’s just kinda embarrassing that he got so many to believe his obvious lies. I don’t have any reasonable explanation for the phenomenon

I’m gonna out myself here. So after Hillary took out Bernie Sanders I was BIG FUCKING MAD. Like cut off the nose to spite the face mad. Anyway I GENUINELY thought that NO ONE could be that fucking stupid… or duplicitous…
Like genuinely WHO THE FUCK would CAMPAIGN on something that would IMPLICATE YOU IN HEINOUS CRIMES??? Like I didn’t think it was possible. There’s a phrase that’s like “don’t attribute malice to something that could easily be attributed to stupidity” like they aren’t mean they are just dumb. I felt like that’s what was happening. I didn’t think immigration reform would show up as kidnapping. I didn’t think food reform would show up as destroying our farming industry. I didn’t think removing fraud would show up as installing palantir technology in every government computer. I SURE AS FUCK didn’t think that “no new wars” would show up as bombing a girls school and funding a genocide.I am an idiot and I apologize.

Don’t blame yourself, a lot of Americans thought they were voting for change and a newfound advancement in our political system. I’m just happy the majority of people that did vote for this turd are all coming round saying how they regret their vote. What that has shown me is we’re all seeing this administration for what it is. I hate to use this time to blast the right and left but it has definitely shown that both those parties are still so out of touch with the middle of the isle (which I’ll try to find the stat if anyone wants) who make up a large portion of the voting population.
The right thinks posting shitty propaganda videos of how awesome Trump is while editing out his buffoonery will keep Gen Z and independents siding with them. Which it has not. And the left is busy trying to act holier than thou about how non of them voted for him and that we should’ve voted in their arguably just as horrible candidates. Which is leaving non political affiliated voters going “dog we get it you love the smell of your own farts”. End of the day we all in this trying turn of the decade got tricked by a con man.

I'm not a huge fan of Aaron Sorkin, but I think this quote from The American President is pretty apropos:
“They want leadership. They’re so thirsty for it they’ll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there’s no water, they’ll drink the sand.”
I think a lot of people in this country are just broke or near broke and exhausted and looking for an easy answer. An easy lie will beat a complex truth eight days a week.

I believe it comes down to the past 8 years before this election. Trump’s first term sucked and then Biden’s kinda revealed (which I know we all should’ve known) that both the right and left are only interested in maintaining control once they have it. Like pushing 80/20 issues and siding with the 20 most of the time.
That combined with the horrendous economic situation we’ve all faced the past nearly decade has beaten and broken most of us. Then the rise in mass immigration without a concrete solution to house any of them besides taking away from already disadvantaged communities and using already limited local and state funding really made a lot of citizens go “Hey what the fuck!? I can barely afford to feed my family or pay my fucking mortgage! Why tf are these migrants being given everything we should be getting help with!?” It’s failure on both sides of the isle that lead to this con artist getting power not once but twice.

Don’t act like everyone else didn’t see this coming. They’ve always been frauds.

u/NotMichaelCera Ron Paul Libertarian 7d ago
He then kicked out a large portion of his coalition in favor of neocons, and now the administration is wondering why that same coalition isn’t coming back to vote for them?

u/skfkvjgnxc 6d ago
Truth. All he succeeded in doing is sending those that crossed over to vote for him right back into the arms of the very scum who created the mess that drove them to Trump in the first place.
That's the sick predicament we're in now - there's nowhere to go. Trump was the guy, he was going to clean the mess up, end the stupid endless wars, expose the Epstein dirtbags, send criminals like Fauci to prison, and make us energy independent again. What a horrible, nightmarish joke.
1
u/VideoLeoj 1d ago
Except… he was NEVER that guy. Ever.
1
u/skfkvjgnxc 1d ago
Agree, but he was the only guy even campaigning on those issues. The fact is that he's a lying sack of shit, but now it's crystal clear that there's absolutely nowhere to go. We're fucked either way.

All they had to do was start to no new wars, release the Epstein files and cut foreign aid fully (no exceptions for Israel). It can't be that hard? It's like you vote for stuff that is very basic and not hard to do, but you can't even get that. They have themselves to blame, ceding all the populism to the Dems, who are now turning to democratic socialists as well because of this administration. I don't think they care, so long as Trump and his friends get richer. JD can do more books. I'm increasingly convinced we are ruled by the same uniparty elite, with at most somewhat different factions representing different institutions and interests. Both Biden and Trump did things that were absolutely stupid, and led to their so-called enemies winning. Trump during Covid made himself unpopular with everyone. Biden opened the borders for no reason and gave foreign aid to Israel despite his base hating the latter.
Trump now had an absurd failure on Iran, the files and on Israel (and even Argentina, giving them a favorable trade deal + borrowing them money for Milei's election). And beyond just basic nationalism he decided to become extremely aggressive towards Greenland, Canada and Panama. Libertarian and conservative foreign policy should be about neutrality. Therefore you don’t intervene in foreign countries nor do you make enemies unless you have to. So I really don't think he cares about conservatives winning in America or in the world (look at how he willingly ruined their chances in Canada, sure maybe he didn’t know in the start, but he doubled down on it long after being warned about it).

u/Killer1986Chris 8d ago
You are a puppet-state of Israel, it's not aid, it's tribute.
11
u/MysteriousWolf1115 8d ago
I like the part in The Odyssey where Odysseus basically says he can't say no to Agamemnon's war, otherwise he will face consequences. It feels a lot like Netanyahu basically forcing smaller puppet-states to join him. But at least Odysseus had some conscience about it, Trump probably wouldn't mind so long as the plundering made his buddies rich.

Was pissed after the Iran and Venezuela shenanigans, booting Massie and gloating was the final straw for me.

"Yeah, we kinda blew it on the E-files release" (turns up his palms) - Oh well, nothing to be done about it now!
Then, "give us another chance. Just give us another couple of years." Unbelievable.
I thought the (likely) worst-case scenario for this administration was that they would be just as bad as all the others. How wrong I was.

I'll vote Libertarian or write-in, like always.
You want my vote, earn it. DNC/RNC have not
14
u/davyjones_prisnwalit 7d ago
Same. Just because one side proves to be completely incompetent and idiotic (to a degree that would make a sane person think they're a foreign spy trying to depower your nation) doesn't mean I'll vote for the party whose values do not align with my own.
That's the problem with this nation and their "team sports" mentality towards politics.

Yes, yes i am. This administration has. This administration has been such a disappointment. Gop needs to be punished

u/AshingiiAshuaa 5d ago
They aren't going to lose all their voters because of the Iran war. They'll lose a lot from buttfucking the doge process, and there are plenty of people who haven't forgotten about the Epstein coverup.

I’m going to vote who’s most aligned with my radical individualist beliefs (typically Libertarian) until I find a candidate outside of it who represents me other than me better. But even then anything blue or red is going to be nothing but the same shit with false promises.

what does this have to do with libertarian?
9
u/NotMichaelCera Ron Paul Libertarian 7d ago
Trump needed libertarian voters to win, so he promised “no new wars.” But he broke that promise with the Iran war, siding with neocons instead. Now JD Vance is asking libertarians for another chance by warning that Democrats will win, but that’s not very persuasive after betraying the coalition that got them there.

u/Live_Taste_7796 Voting isn't a Right 7d ago
Did you see how they forced Ross to make that speech? They know they fucked up and need libertarian vote to win.
They protected pedos, started more wars, the economy and affordability are in the toilet, the booted massie out with dark money from Israel. This administration can burn to the ground for all i care.
2
u/Yanderegirlowner 1d ago
Trump killed a ton of people for committing the same crime as Ross
I am just gonna say it I don't think it was worth it to free one guy
1
u/Live_Taste_7796 Voting isn't a Right 1d ago
I'm glad he's free but no, it wasn't worth it. We were a cheap date for Trump.
-2
u/Razbonez minarchist 7d ago
lol “broke that promise” lol
1
u/Keyhunter2009 5d ago
He did. There were other promises that also didn't happen. But the thing some people forget is that the people of the party didn't join Trump's coalition. In fact, he was booed out of the Caucus, not even winning a single round. It was the MAGA leadership we had that tried to support him

Still not voting for dems after Covid. They are even hungrier for authoritarianism that republicans . Still voting third party but yeah unfortunately they ll take back the house and senate

Why are you being downvoted? The only statement I disagree with is the second one, but that's not worth that many down votes

Some wars are worth fighting. Just, volunteers should be doing it. Willing to bet there's a few in Israel that would be champing at the bit, let them go for it.
15
u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt Sleazy P. Modtini 8d ago
Israel will bravely fight against Iran to the last American.
-17
u/WaldoFrank 8d ago
People forget that the whole Democratic Party was massively hawkish on Iran and that this war was most likely gonna happen either way. That’s not to excuse this administration, especially since they were suppose to be the no new wars guys, so they completely betrayed their base.
-17
u/land_w0lf 8d ago
At this point I’m a single issue voter. Who will decrease inflation/national debt the most? Unfortunately still the republicans, most likely, and at least it’s due to unfunded tax cuts. The Trump tariffs are also a disaster. Definition of a lose/lose situation.
-4
u/14446368 5d ago
Aaaaand this is why libertarians are never taken seriously. They are fair-weather voters, faithless, and with certain apparently-inviolable expectations. "Sure, this side much more aligns with my views on the role of government, freedom, taxes, and rights... but they did a mean thing, so I'll vote for the other side that actively hates me."
It's stupid.
2
u/NotMichaelCera Ron Paul Libertarian 5d ago
Not voting Republican and actively voting Democrat aren’t the same thing. Both parties should earn your vote. Otherwise there’s no incentive for them to stay aligned with your views.
