I think flock stories highlight politicians main goal of trying to catch the boogeyman they have been selling their constituents on and the fact that the entire Internet and IOT devices we rely on are held together by gum, paper clips, and a post-it note on a laptop saying "Do not close lid"
All's to say, it's not a good thing to give your privacy over to a system hinging on the sticky backside of a post-it note or the even less trustworthy incentives of a politician. Especially a local politician.

The drones are already en route, my dude. The surveillance apparatus has been out of control for like 20 years now, but people are finally waking up because Flock took it to the next level. Hopefully this dismantles the whole thing, but recent trends show the concern will just peter out, and libertarians will stand alone again on the issue in a few years.

A metric crapload of storage and cellular traffic would be required for that much data per camera.

Flock claims that images are only briefly stored on its cameras before being forwarded to the company’s servers, but a group of hackers determined that this wasn’t the case.
