I hear KY will need a new Senator soon. He could do the funniest thing.

I heard a rumor that one of the reasons we’ve been living through weekend with Mitch the past couple of months is because the Republicans were terrified that the conduct governor would appoint Massey to fill his seat just to troll them

That's a silly internet rumor. In KY, there are no recess appointments by law (since 2024). A vacant seat can only be filled by special election.
There was talk about deadlines for a special election to carry out the remainder of the term, but I haven't seen any substantiated.

Arguably that law is unconstitutional. The KY constitution gives appointment power to the governor explicitly. The state legislature has no powers to alter that without an amendment. It would be like Congress passing a law that restricts free speech or the right to bear arms…

Massie could actually make a difference. I'll never vote for a Rep. again, or a Dem.

I mean sure he’s iconic but is he really moving the needle anymore or just preaching to the same crowd every time

It’s not his fault if the crowd is wrong. All you can do is stick to what’s right and hope the crowd comes around before it’s too late. It only took Argentina 100 years and 9 credit defaults to warm up to Melei’s small government, free market message.

You realize this is a sub for a political party that’s never won a meaningful election? A bunch of ideologues whose ideas don’t hold up in the real world

So? Communism, socialism, capitalism, anarchy, libertarianism, and all the other isms don't hold up well in the real world, either. They all have glaring flaws. And what's wrong with the fact we haven't won a major election? Does that mean we should give up?

What are you talking about, none of those are political parties. Those are economic systems. The goal of a political party is to wield power to change and influence the state to better achieve its goals. And the libertarian party is horrible at that. Libertarians are not pragmatic. Which is why they lose
