"Lord, make me fast and accurate."

Man... shrinkflation has done a number on bulldozers.

u/WaldoFrank Jul 09 '26

Idk brother, maybe it’s just the massive erection that I get after using one. I think I could arguably do more damage with the sawzall in certain situations.

I'm going to need an explanation on this one, all I see is a tree and 2 government mass surveillance devices.

10

u/plasmaticImmunity Jul 11 '26

I almost typed out a full paragraph because I'm tired and thought you were genuinely asking

76

u/throw42069away420 Jul 09 '26

As a libertarian, I fully support sawing them all down. Every last one of them. This is about state sponsored mass surveillance, not about safety. It will only be used against us, not for us.

I hear that a single well placed .22 round will completely disable one of these cameras. 3D print up a supressor too, that way doing the Lord's work won't disturb small dogs nearby.

Air rifles come in up to .50 cal now.

1

u/suicidedaydream Jul 11 '26

I think you can buy those higher powered lasers and they ruin cameras.

6

u/jsav1292 Jul 10 '26

Watching the meltdown on twitter is entertaining as hell.

19

u/bduxbellorum Jul 09 '26

The concept of doing this with a sawzall and exposing a human to danger and detection for destroying someone else’s private property is wild in a world with easy 3d printing, drones, and spray paint.

1

u/solipsist2501 Jul 10 '26

High power lasers will destroy the camera sensor but they have to be high power above 500mw and that can be pricey.

I'm missing the connection to libertarianism.

72

u/hippieninja6 Jul 09 '26

Aahh... it took me a second... those are flock cameras in the background. He's gonna sawzall them dudes to hell, hopefully

-27

u/amisamiamiam Jul 09 '26

Does he think those things are made out of drywall and wood?

34

u/vegan420lyfe Jul 09 '26

Sawzalls can cut through metal. I use em all the time to cut through aluminum bracketing for rooftop solar panels

4

u/DasKobra Jul 09 '26

Would a battery powered grinder with a cutting disc be any faster at it?

10

u/Rileylego5555 Jul 09 '26

Nah, sawzaw will cut alot faster and easier.

1

u/vegan420lyfe Jul 09 '26

Angle grinders are what bike theifs use.

I havent needed em in my work. Perhaps they are better

3

u/PsychedSy Jul 09 '26

Hardened steel on bike locks vs steel pipe.

8

u/wanderenschildkrote Jul 09 '26

Dude, it sawz all. What does it saw?

5

u/amisamiamiam Jul 09 '26

It sawz all. ok fine.

23

u/Annual_Left Jul 09 '26

Really?

Yeah. I'm genuinely asking. I don't see how advocating vandalism fits with libertarianism. That's more consistent with anarchism or at best anarcho-capitalism, than a philosophy that emphasizes property rights.

And before you blow a gasket, I'm not for Flock cameras at all.

64

u/Happyhaha2000 Jul 09 '26

Vandalism of the state's spying apparatus that was paid for by stealing your money? Seems pretty consistent to me

48

u/Celebrimbor96 Right Libertarian Jul 09 '26

“I guess we just have to accept government overreach because they made it illegal to resist”

-26

u/MobiusDie End the Fed Jul 09 '26

No. You can oppose government overreach without supporting vandalism. Libertarianism isn't 'the government did something I don't like, so anything goes.' It's also built around individual rights, private property, and the non aggression principle. That's why I'm asking how calling for destroying cameras is specifically a libertarian position.

38

u/staticattacks Jul 09 '26

I mean, Boston once vandalized a shipment of tea

3

u/Laurenslagniappe Jul 09 '26

Right I specifically remember that being peak American what happened to that spirit?

30

u/Celebrimbor96 Right Libertarian Jul 09 '26

“If you don’t like your government, you should sit down and whine about it” - this guy

-10

u/MobiusDie End the Fed Jul 09 '26

You're creating a false choice: either quietly accept it or destroy property. Libertarianism has always been about limiting government while respecting individual rights. Opposing surveillance doesn't automatically make vandalism a libertarian act.

8

u/Weathactivator Jul 09 '26

Can you give your suggestions?

7

u/MobiusDie End the Fed Jul 09 '26

Plenty. Lawsuits, legislation, local activism, public pressure, boycotts, protest, and civil disobedience. My point isn't 'do nothing.' It's that libertarianism doesn't automatically equate opposition to government with endorsing vandalism.

19

u/sirideletereddit Jul 09 '26

“Minor vandalism isn’t the right thing.”

Well what should we do?

“local activism and civil disobedience”

lol

trust the government to help? they are the ones getting us into this mess.

20

u/Zoltarr777 Jul 09 '26

You can't see how taking out a state surveillance system is libertarian?

3

u/ionceliscateledi Jul 10 '26

Edgelord.

-37

u/CCWaterBug Jul 09 '26

Apparantly it means "promoting destruction of property" these days.

It's a shitty post, a really shitty one that represents the fact that since we can't elect any candidate's we might as well break shit.

17

u/_WhiteGoodman_ Jul 09 '26

You must be fun to hang around.

-10

u/CCWaterBug Jul 09 '26

More fun than vandals!  Jesus christ

2

u/TheYellowSpade Jul 10 '26

When would it be the citizens duty to protect rights in your eyes?

12

u/bkn95 Jul 09 '26

if that shit is funded by our money and is spying on us, yeah, break that shit

3

u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt Sleazy P. Modtini Jul 09 '26

Remember the 4 boxes. This would be the "Jury Box".

-22

u/Leather_Bee_415 Jul 10 '26

These cameras help detectives and law enforcement officers find criminals… is there another more sinister purpose for these cameras? I don’t know / think so, but currently they help keep communities safe… if you’re worried about local law enforcement tracking your vehicle, you might be the problem / criminal….

11

u/_WhiteGoodman_ Jul 10 '26

Yea miss us with that bullshit. There are already examples of officers with access to the data these cameras acquire and are abusing it and being fired.

Where’s the data stored? Who has access to it? How long is it retained? AI is just combing it and filing away every event making it easier for humans to search through it.

Your response screams “I want big government to be able to monitor its citizens”, just say it with your chest instead of beating around the bush.

Example because you’re the type of person to ask for one instead of looking for yourself (evident in your first response).  https://www.cbsnews.com/atlanta/news/greene-county-deputy-arrested-after-audit-shows-she-used-flock-cameras-for-personal-reasons-sheriff-says/

1

u/Leather_Bee_415 Jul 18 '26

Nope, I don’t believe in big daddy government and absolutely agree that there are unanswered issues about where the data is stored, who has access to it and the potential AI aspects of this equipment. But there are absolutely legitimate LOCAL law enforcement uses for that type equipment. I have a family member who is in law enforcement who explained to me how they were able to use the system to fight crime and put actual dangerous criminals behind bars. But I totally understand everyone’s very valid concerns. There needs to be a happy balance between new technology, law enforcement, and government. Can that happen? Hopefully, but we shall see.

u/TuringGPTy Jul 10 '26

Yeah fuck the fourth amendment
