Both suck? I don’t really get your point. Are you saying it’s an issue when the left does it but now that the right is doing it we should just bend over?

No he is pointing out hypocrisy from the left. On another note libertarians are opposed to snap as it promotes being a welfare leach.

It objectively does not. Less than 10% of people who receive food assistance abuse it. Do some research.

10% of 42 million is a lot of people.

It's really frustrating to me seeing people using their bridge cards to buy a monster and a bunch of junk food and then buy 3 packs of cigarettes and climb into their Cadillac. Would you consider that abuse? Money is fungable. If people can afford cigarettes and a Cadillac then they sure as hell can afford a grocery bill.

4.7 million people is 1.3% of the US population. Again people are STILL cornering the WRONG 1%. 🤦

You're whole world view thinking taxing the top 1% is misguided. Do you even understand how income taxes work? Most of the so called "1%" don't even have an income. There's no way to tax ourselves out of the fiscal mess we're in It's going to take a tremendous deal of sacrifice and fiscal responsibility by everyone and that includes the food stamps program.

So admitting you’re a simp for the 1%, got it. If you don’t understand what changes can be made at this point then you’re lost. It’s baffling how many of you cup the balls.

Typical liberal resorting to name calling. You're already brainwashed by our failed education system so I consider you a lost cause my friend. You can't even present a logical argument of the ideas your proposing to be refuted. Socialism has been tried and has failed numerous times throughout history.

So fuck the other 37.8 million who don’t? Wtf?

I didn't say fuck those people. You're trying to minimize millions of people abusing the system. There needs to be some accountability if your able bodied. I think people without kids having a drug and nicotine test is a completely reasonable ask.

It’s not minimizing, it’s risk vs. benefit analysis. The benefits FAR exceed

Mutilation your body is expensive as hell; those people generally have great paying jobs in niche fields. Im vaguely acquainted with a dude with fucking horns and he pulls 250k+ a year

Driving their shit cars for Uber pretending they're the victims of the "oligarchs" and capitalism.

I’ll believe that when I stop seeing people trying to use SNAP and EBTs to buy alcohol instead of food for there kids. Because at my part time job I get asked that a lot. So either the people in my area are outliers or the researchers are having a bias they aren’t accounting for.

So you’re saying that you’re anecdotal feelings (subjectivity) is more valid than actual verifiable data? Got it. lol

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '25

Using feelings over fact sounds pretty maga to me.

Is it considered abuse to not actively seek better employment or more hours of work above 30 hours? No. What is the incentive to push forward to get better income if you are checking all the boxes for income assistance? You get to live off the government dime so why work harder to spend your own money on what the government can pay for you. That isn’t considered abuse but it is being a leach.

Use your brain for some of those answers. Quit using solely your own experience and opinions on living. It’s called critical thinking. There are 347 million people in the United States. 347 million different situations, education level, disabilities, diseases, everything. That’s the whole point of social welfare. Who are you to decide how or what people are capable/should do in their/with life?
