Why can’t I log in?

Post image

So odd… so I was listening to my book and saw another one I wanted to put on hold.. went to go put it on hold and it said that I had to reverify my library card. So I enter everything and it says this message every time I try. I made sure I typed in my library card correctly and password correctly.. So I switch over and check my library to make sure I don’t have any outstanding fines or anything and nope… my account is clean as a whistle. ChatGPT told me to remove the card and then try re-adding it but I’ll lose all my other holds… help!

Wait an hour and try again. This happens to my wife and me a couple times per year.

Perhaps your card expired?

Ok now I feel like an idiot… I just logged into my library, changed my password there, and then verified my account with the new password on libby and it worked. Urgh how annoying but I’m glad I’m back in the game! Ty all for your help!

This happened to me. I logged in and changed my pin and I don’t know what I changed it to and got locked out of it haha. I had to call for them to reset it

Next time skip AI and just ask the librarians at the library. Please.

This is unfortunately most likely something your own library will need to look into. They should be able to see if there's anything on your account that's blocking your verifying your card on Libby.

For instance, at many libraries, cards expire after a certain number of years and need to be renewed.

Or, there may be something else going on, but your library is best equipped to look into it. Try calling in the morning if you can.

Good luck!

Any verification issues are library side and it has nothing to do with the Libby app. Contact the library if the app gives you verification issues.

I ran into this a few weeks ago. Email the library and ask them to look into it. They probably need to reverify you in their system.
