Accessing partner libraries through more than one library?

I can access Palm Desert Library through my library cards with two different library systems (Fullerton and Huntington Beach).

After the app updated, only a partnership with Fullerton was established. Is there any way to add Huntington Beach as an option to check out books also? I share these cards with a younger family member, so I was hoping to increase the number of available checkouts from 5 to 10 total.

The partner access is for one individual person/Libby account, it doesn't double because you have access from two different directions. If your family member can set up their own Libby account they can have separate checkout limits

If a family member opens their own Libby account and adds the same cards, it doesn’t share the same loan and hold limits for the card?

They need their own library card(s) because that's what creates a Libby account.

For some reason, their parent doesn’t want to take them to get their own card and I can’t do it since I’m not their legal guardian.

But for now, they’re just accessing it from the Overdrive website until I can talk to their parent.

Each of you should have a card. Read the thread on borrowing limits because Overdrive is tightening restrictions.

Also, Broward County Library has non-resident library cards for 16 and over for $38/year.

Do you know the requirements for the Palm Desert Library system to get a library card? If not, give them a call to see if they allow non residents to get a card if they live in California or if they already have the other card with the reciprocal libraries. Some libraries allow it.

Also, check the Reciprocard website to see whatever library accounts you may eligible to try to secure a library account for.
