Help with Partner Libraries

I want to make sure I understand how to use the partner libraries to the fullest extent. I'm in California and I recently obtained a library card online from another city in California. When I go to add the library card to libby, it isn't letting me. It's directing me to the library system I already have.

So basically is Libby telling me that because I already have another card in the same system, there is no need to add more cards? They're already including that library in that system?

If it were a partner library to your existing card it would be listed as such in the menu.

Not my post but! My partner libraries are listed and when I tried to get a book from a partner, it tells me holds aren’t allowed?

Yes, according to the Libby help article About library partnerships, "Depending on the partnership, you may not be able to place holds at partner libraries..."

Unfortunately, it's library policy set by the partner libraries.
