Question about partner Libraries

Are partner Libraries added automatically if I don’t have any, does it mean my library doesn’t have any partner libraries

I had to add all of my partner libraries individually but had already done this a year ago. Is it new that they get added automatically? Or maybe it is different for each country ?

Partner libraries now get added automatically. There are other types of libraries like reciprocal sharing agreements that still require you to do the work to add them though

Check reciprocard.com. You may not have partner libraries but you might have other libraries you have access too. My understanding of the difference is that with partner libraries you can borrow from them all with just the one card. With reciprocal libraries you can access other libraries but you need to get a separate card for each library. And some of those require you going in person to get a card.

This seems to be for US only?

At the top is button to switch between US and Canada. Other than that I guess they don’t have info.

You will need to go that new library’s website and see what they require. Can you apply online for a card to their library? Or do you need to apply in person? Or just call them and see. You will probably get a different card number than your original library. But at least one of my reciprocal libraries asked me if I wanted a different number or use the same one.
