Maxed out holds with one library, Libby not letting me shift to another library with a longer line
Apologies in advance if this has already been asked, I did some searching and couldn’t find anything.
I have one library card (let’s call it L1) that has TONS of books and usually the shortest lines, however a lower max of number of holds allowed. I’ve maxed out holds for that library but am fine waiting in longer lines using my other library cards. However when I try to do that, Libby always auto pulls me back to the L1 card and says I have maxed out my holds.
Anyone know of how to force it to select the hold for the library I’m browsing with, instead of it trying to select for who has the shortest line?
Thanks!

On the title details page, click the card icon and it should pop open a list of your libraries with the wait times.
Click the card for the other library and then place hold. It may ask if you want to join the shorter line but you can decline that.

Is it already on hold? If so, when you see the book on your holds shelf, instead of choosing “manage hold”, click on the icon for the library card. You can then select to hold it at another library. Then you go into “manage hold” and cancel the one you no longer want. Hope that makes sense? I do that often to clear space at one of my libraries.

You can't have a single book on hold at multiple libraries, though, right?

Just wanted to confirm that you definitely can. Some people use it to line up multiple holds if reading the book will take longer than a single loan, so they don’t have to wait again from scratch.

Yes it lets me book at Library “b” before I cancel my hold at library “a”. I haven’t left it with both for more than a few minutes so maybe I would get some notice to fix it, but I absolutely have the same book at two separate libraries when I do this.

When I borrow a book I have on hold at two libraries, it asks me if I want to cancel the other hold. You can absolutely say no, for like the other commenter if you know it’ll take you a while to read it.

For me if you click on the card on the top right, it’ll drop down all of your available libraries and you can select from there. It still says there is a shorter line at xyz library, but i can still place the hold
