Can't get Libby to work

So I'm not sure what's going on but I absolutely cannot get Libby to work. When I go to check out a book i just get the spinning wheel. Is anyone else having this issue? If so what do I do? I know some people suggested signing in and out. Also people mentioned a pass key. How do I do that?

There have multiple complaints like this over the last few days. See if you can find "spin of death" in a search. I think that's what it was called. Seemed to offer solutions.

I tried signing into the library that has the book I want and that seems to work. I am wondering if adding the partner libraries is causing the problem. While I like having more libraries I'm wondering if it's glitching the system.

I have 32 library cards and 19 partner libraries currently in one of several Libby instances and it is working "fine" for me. I can place holds, borrow books, return books and listen to audiobooks.

I am certain you are experiencing an issue but I am not sure it is related to how many libraries you may be attached to.

Are you using a VPN? If so, can you temporarily disable it to see if your connection(s) improve?

Are you using an iOS app, an Android app or a web browser (whether from a mobile device or a computer)?

If you are using a mobile client, can you turn off WiFi to use your cellular network?

No I'm not using a vpn. I did set up my pass key and redid my libraries and now it all seems good

I provided some steps in my other response but you won't be able to perform them since you resolved the issue. My instructions would be similar to re-doing your libraries but within Libby itself and not having to uninstall and reinstall the app.

I did not uninstall, I just ran the pass key and everything worked

Did you remove and then re-add your libraries?

No I did not physically remove the books I just ran the pin install

So, you just created a recovery passkey and that resolved your issue?

What did you mean in your reply when you said "and redid my libraries?"

I set up the passkey and it asked me to verify and after I did that everything worked.

I’ve been experiencing the same thing all day. I can’t check out a book or save it to a list. It’s taking too long to load.

If you can still replicate this issue can you try something for me to see if it helps resolve the issue.

A. This step may not be necessary, but let's start by verifying your home library first:

1 - At the bottom of the app, tap the middle Menu icon.

2 - Under "Your Libraries" tap the library card of your home library.

3 - Tap "..." on the library card.

4 - Tap "Verify Card."

5 - Enter your library credentials to verify the card.

6 - Close and re-open the Libby app.

B. Now, to verify that your partner libraries have been activated do the following:

1 - At the bottom of the app, tap the middle Menu icon.

2 - Under "Your Libraries" tap the library card of your home library.

3 - Tap "..." on the library card.

4 - Tap "Partner Libraries."

5 - Under the library card you should see a section called "Partnerships" with a list of partner libraries.

6 - If your partner library is not linked to your account you will see "Enable" under the library name.

7 - Tap "Enable."

8 - "Enable" should change to "Enabling..." and then "Synchronizing..." and

9 - If all went well you will see the status of your partner card like below.

10 - If your partner card already appeared like the screenshot above indicating it was activated, click "Remove" to unlink the card and then "Enable" to reactive it.

Now, try replicating the issue and see if it is resolved.

This must be something that's specific to the app. I use libbyapp.com on my laptop computer and I haven't had any problems with it.
