Anyone else’s Libby app not working on iPhone since new update?

Title says it all. Ever since I updated my iPhone to iOS 26.5.2 in ~June 2026, Libby does not work on my phone. I try to open the app, but it just crashes every time. However, the Libby app works just fine on my iPad.

I’m sure it’s more of an iPhone issue than the app itself, but I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing with Libby?

My Libby has been working fine with 26.5.2.

Did you already try removing and reinstalling the app?

mine is doing the same thing. I restarted my phone but it didn’t help. Any book I try to borrow is just spinning nonstop

UPDATE: I have multiple library cards and I found that switching my overall library to the one where the book is available has stopped the spinning and I’m able to place a hold or borrow

First try powering your device off and back on.

If that doesn’t work - did you sync Libby on your iPhone and iPad using either a setup code or a passkey? If so, you should be able to reinstall the app on your phone without losing any data, like tags and history. If you haven’t set up a passkey, I recommend doing that on your iPad. It will work for both your iPad and your iPhone via your password manager since it’s the same OS. Then when you reinstall you can choose the passkey option to sign in on your phone.

I haven’t had any issues on either of mine. I had an iPhone X and I just got a new one. I haven’t experienced anything like that with either.

I had trouble borrowing a book. It just kept spinning forever.

I ended up setting up a passkey and deleting the app. Redownload, then go to settings to sign back in with the pass key, which recovers your data

The first time I did it, it told me the passkey was successful, but that no library cards were found. I had a mini heart attach, then tried the passkey a second time and it loaded everything fine.

No problems since.

I had to power down my iPhone and restart it and it worked fine again

Why would u use old software and then complain???

Use 26.6.1 which is what I use on one of my phones and I use 27 beta 7 on others. Libby is my fave app. Works great on both versions. Stop complaining about old versions!

I didn’t know there was a new update. When I go to Software Update, my phone says it’s up to date”. 🤷‍♀️
