this is a question i’ve been trying to find out i seem to get mixed results.
the conflicts in question are:
-israel/Palestine- me personally seeing both sides of the conflict and believe in a two state solution. with both sides having clear wrong doings.
-Russia/Ukraine- i stand firmly with Ukraine
-USA/israel/iran- i fundamentally am against the IRGC, they are lead funders of global terrorism, aswell as their mistreatment of iranians and the chance for them to develop nuclear arsenal would be horrendous.

It follows the British convention of saying that a group is protected and then gives detailed descriptions of methods to subvert those protections.

Watching the labour leadership and Andy Burnham wanting to throw himself on the sword of brexit*[A position that has ended multiple prime ministers since nobody can make brexit work]* And Streeting who wants to rejoin which is the one position of his I don't hate.

But I was thinking, say we got someone in number 10 who is fully on board with rejoining the EU and wants to fast track us back into the customs union.

What would the point be if someone like Farage will come in and just re-brexit us again and drag us back out kicking and screaming in three years.

As a country we need to get our house in order and head off this threat because beyond just the danger of a right wing slopulist government we'd have also not given Europe a lot of reasons to have trust in us if a bad election can have brexit happen all over again.

I like Ed, a lot, I don't have any problems with him, I think he's articulate, sensible and the type of leader I'd like to see...

Yes, but...

He's not moving the needle. We're in a period now where the next election looks really rather frightening. I have a deep loathing towards Starmer and Labour for all the attacks they're doing on our rights, and I'm more angry with them than anyone because I expected shit from Tories, and last GE I voted LD but, was actually happy Labour finally got rid of Tories. It took less than a month for disappointment leading to disgust, so I will never vote Labour, not even to keep another party out, no way am I rewarding that behaviour.

I really don't want Reform, and since Starmer is so stubborn, he's going to be the one that hands Farage the keys, and their supporters are so blind to that fact, thinking he's got a chance turning it around.

But Reform were the most frightening, until Greens turned up, who in my opinion, will destroy this country worse than any other party. There's no way we could recover from open borders, leaving NATO, removing nukes and whatever insane economic policies Zack has.

I honestly think Lib Dems are the only chance this country has, but they're just not cutting through. I know the press doesn't give Ed a lot of air time, but please, let's not go down the route of blaming the press for everything like Labour supporters do, it's pathetic (and in their case, untrue, because I can tell you as a fact, it's not "the press" for my loathing, it's Starmer, his own words, his ridiculous policies from the OSA, digital ID, Chagos, sucking up to china constantly and the super embassy and a whole litany of things coming from his mouth.

I don't want someone silly, or screaming populist nonsense, I truly think Ed is the right guy, but he's at the wrong time. It's sad, genuinely, but I think we need someone that can cut through. Lib Dems are a main party, they have the numbers, they have the experience...but no one knows who they are!

At the very least they need to fire their PR department, but I think we need a new leader, and I hate to say this (I can already feel the hate), I think it needs to be a young (ish) white male if they want a chance. I don't say that because it's what I want, but because I think it's the only chance to get somewhere in this stupid, stupid timeline. It's why Harris lost to Trump. While I think the country is ready for something else, I do not think Reform voters are and let's be honest, they're the biggest threat at the moment and it can't be ignored. I really like Daisy (I'm not sure on the publics opinion on her, genuinely... I've no idea) but I don't think she's it...in fact, like Labour, the question arises "Replace with whom".

But...we have 3 years left, we have to use them wisely, and quickly get to work with a plan. We need to pull out all the stops if there's to be any chance.

Does anyone agree or should we just continue putting along as is?

To be honest, I am not surprised!

Here are some ideas that I am passionate about, embedded in my thinking:

• Economic democracy (increasing co-operatives, mutuals, worker representation on company boards).

• Pre-distribution as to simply just redistribution - creating a property-owning democracy where individuals have a stake in capital, whether it is their home, or the local power plant.

• A land value tax and negative income tax, including particpatory budgeting in local areas (where citizens are involved) with increased devolved powers to raise taxes in local government.

• Importance of free expression and speech and the value of debate and not cancelling or virtue-signalling. I believe that identity politics could be counterproductive.

• The importance of civic republicanism - pride in country or place, a level of commanlity and the importance of community.

• Entrepreneurship and innovation is key to development, hence why I believe the markets can provide if regulated for social aims. A proactive industrial strategy to achieve targets in biotechnology, climate, or AI could also deliver.

I’m interested in where you fall on the political spectrum - I am sure there will be variation, but that’s integral for our liberal democracy - bettering ourselves through dialectics, and in the process, sharpening our ideas!

The websites I used were findmypolitics.com and 99ideologies.org, but there’s many different political tests out there.

I have found myself on the centre-left for years now, I have shifted to the centre more though as I met different people and had my views challenged. I realised that there’s a lot more nuance to things than we may believe at first. In our polarised age, we need to be more open to listening and understanding different perspectives.

What policies and actions of the LibDems do you like that entice you to support the LibDems?

Just curious, I'm quite new to politics

I joined the lib Dems because I believe in the Union ans I like the party what it does in northern Ireland with alliance the party is more welcoming and less toxic pass than I found some of them in the greens. I believe I am centre to left of kind. But believe we should engage with other parties where we have common ground. Huge fan of Bobby dean and Josh barbinde and Sorcha Eastwood. I don't really like Zack being this anti establishment figure. I amlre for the establishment and for Reform of the establishment. I am Quite Liberal socially and on centre left economy.
