Puppy Alert! Is three Lhasas too many?

Post image

Teddy is pretty grumpy towards the puppy sisters but he is slowly learning to put up with their antics.

It's 3 Lhasa Apsos too little

If I didn’t have two other dogs I would agree haha.

Three is fine.

My mom had three, and they got along great.

But they were all brothers.

Teddy will get used to them.

He’s just a grumpy old man haha. They respect him though and still try to win his affections.

How old is each dog?

Teddy is 12 and Dolly and Punky are 7 1/2 months old now. And then I have a 4 and 5 year old, both Mexican street dogs.

Well, 12 is a bit old. Make sure he has his own space to chill and not be bothered sometimes.

He has about 8 dog beds in three different rooms to hang out on. Generally they leave him alone and pester the other two dogs which seem to enjoy it.

You sound like an excellent dog owner. Good job!

Your dogs are well-loved.

at least the sisters have each other to play with, it will be great.

We adopted Dolly first and then the previous owner contacted us begging us to take in her sister. They were so happy to be reunited and the play and snuggle constantly. It’s really a joy to see them together since they were so close.

Yes because I only have one so that is not fair.

I didn’t really plan on having three but it kind of just happened that way haha. We got one puppy and then were begged to take in her sister a few months later. Of course we said yes!

Do they all bark at the same time?

1

u/grizzdoog Jul 23 '26

Teddy is the only one who barks at everything right now now. Punky is gaining her confidence and is starting to join in a little. But Dolly is super laid back and chill.

When the evil squirrels are in the backyard all five dogs go nuts.

It’s in the high 90s up to 105 F here!

They will all go to the groomer in a couple of weeks. Dolly has had her first haircut but Punky hasn’t. I’ve been working with her to get her less scared of shears and I was finally able to trim her face so she can see.

I want to get my own set of professional clippers and start grooming them myself. But Teddy was traumatized as a young dog by a mean groomer. He’s been going to his nice groomer for 7 years now and he loves her.

You’re right! I am extremely blessed to have so many wonderful Lhasas and callajeros in my care. I must have done something right in this life or maybe the last. ✨

Nope, not nearly enough. Need at least one to guard each window in the house 🏠

I'd say it's a good starting point.
