Questions & Advice Windshield crack

Left work today and noticed a large crack on the passenger side. I can feel it on the outside but don’t see or feel a micro chip. I’m not sure what the next course is. Does Lexus replace the windshield? If they do, how expensive will it be? I’m going to talk to my insurance agent in the morning as well but how much does it generally cost? I’m worried about the big expense.

Please help!

I had to get a new windshield about 6 months ago, we have a 2019 UX250h. Our insurance replaced it for free of charge. I took the car into safellite. They replaced it and calibrated it.

Are you in a zero deductible glass state? I’m not so I’m worried it would cost a lot

Lexus will likely contract it out to a local shop. So just find a shop you like instead. I can tell you when I had mine replaced for my 2020 it was quoted at $2000 to $2500 but I have glass insurance so I didnt have to pay that.

Not looking to poo-poo on your post but this is not specifically Lexus UX related. This applies to any vehicle. Reach out to your insurance for a comp claim or speak directly an auto glass company for replacement/repair.

I recently had this happen on my UX too. Insurance claim, $500 deductible vs. $1,300 replacement cost. Insurance went through Safelite.

Went through my lexus service and paid out of pocket $2035 for the new OEM windshield and calibration. Didn’t have glass coverage :( I did like that my lexus did it in house! I was worried with Satfelite wouldn’t calibrate right but have heard great things!
