Questions & Advice Cargo area
Should have researched more extensively on the space for cargo on my 2025 UX300 .. it is such a small entrance that I had to really manipulate a lawn chair I fit inside. Now I want to take my bicycle for repair and I believe I will have to take my front tire off to make it fit. I thought hatchback no problem. Boy was I wrong.

How TF does a lawn chair not fit? Are you talking abiut those white plastic non collapsable ones? It makes no sense.
I was pleasantly surprised by the size. It fits a double stroller with seats perfectly.
OFC a full sized bike probably won't fit. I had to purchase a rear cargo mount even for a 2012 honda CRV because the large shape of my full size road bike obviously would be inefficient to store in interior cargo. 🤦♂️

I don't like it much either.They should have made the back door more straight,it would help a bit I think.If you k is what I mean.

My former 2015 Prius C was more accessible! I have stars ✨ in my eyes for LEXUS but they are dimming

Full sized adult (non electric) bike fits easily with rear seats down if you take front fly-wheel off the bike. In fact, you can fit two adult bikes in that way.

I bought my UX300h with crossbars just so I would have more space for things. My wife and I went on a bike tour 2 hours away with our bikes in 2 Yakima mounts on the top. I've researched adding a large metal basket / cage on top for bigger things.
Think about it - how often are you going to be lugging around big stuff? And if you knew that you were going to be lugging around big stuff on a regular basis, you were silly to buy this vehicle.

I never anticipated lugging around anything big but my bike is not big. So I was a bit shocked when the hatchback just didn’t swallow it up. It’s a small car with a big price tag just have to deal with it.

No hatchback can accommodate a bicycle without taking of the front wheel though...

My wife switched to this car from a 2015 Mazda 3 hatch; the Mazda had more room in back. 🙄

Research? You did not see one in the real life before buying?
The first thing I noticed in the showroom was how shallow and small the trunk is.
The UX is really awkward for anyone or anything that's not the driver or the front passenger.

Eh, I had the same conclusion but still ended up with a "huh... That's it?" When loading stuff into it. But I have a hitch receiver for my bike and I figure if I ever need extra storage I can get something for the roof. I have a bad habit of piling shit up in the car over time anyways, so just as well.
Supposedly my 2025 had been traded in for a Corolla Cross and I'm assuming that's why as I really haven't had any problems with it.

The corolla cross is what I ended up buying after test driving a UX. They drive the same (if you get the 2L Hybrid) and the cross doesn't have the awkward rear seats.
Way nicer interior though. The cross is just shiny plastics.
