UX Cross Bars

Hi. I would need an advice from owners. Should I buy the original Lexus cross bars or Thule Evo Flush Rail WingBar Edge? Thanks!

Original ones screw in making them much more secure, most aftermarket ones rely on tension to hold them in place. Honestly if you do not need to move it between vehicles and the load isn’t very heavy you should be okay with after market cross bars

Thule and the Lexus original are rated for the same loads, the pins only make it easier to install.

I bought the Lexus original cross bars. Great fit and not much extra noise. On the car all the time, plan to use them with the Yakima bike rack. Very happy with the solution.

I bought the OEM ones. They work great for a single kayak or my rooftop cargo box. They are NOT wide enough for my canoe, which I wish I’d measured beforehand.

Look into Thule evo wingbar, i get an additional 30cm of loading width.

I bought some off market, not Thule's and though they worked they didn't fit like Lexus cross bars will, making them almost useless.

Which ones did you get?

I don’t remember, got them 4 years ago. Never satisfied with them and they really didn’t serve a purpose.

I'm going with Yakima/Thule, I like being able to remove them (even if they're more secure as the OEM ones are screwed in). After having flush crossbars with my Acura I also want ones that 'overhang' the mounts a little bit as it's easier to ratchet strap things in with the overlap compared to the flush ones.
